St Helen’s Cottages are superb. Excellent location, great amenities well appointed - great stay for one night or several. Hosts were easy to deal with and very generous. Cannot rate this higher for Clare.

We stayed in Clare for an extended weekend in July. Cottages were a short drive from the centre of Clare, and set amongst a rural almost landscape with trees and lawn around us. There were maybe 5 different cottages, which we kept just far away from each other to give you plenty of space to feel that you had the beauty to yourself. The cottages were quaint, but beautiful. Firewood was provided, and we were give a complimentary bottle of wine, Port and chocolates. Short walking distance to a local winery. Loved it, and would highly recommend for a weekend getaway

A group of four of us stayed at ‘A Break in the Vines’ and we loved it and could not have been happier there. Each night we’d take our glasses of wine out and just wander up and down the vineyard rows and chat together in the gorgeous evening light. The Clare Valley looks completely stunning when you stay at St Helen’s! To get any comments out the way that are not A++, I’ll just mention a couple of things…. it was a bit strange the the fireplace seemed ‘out of action’ (armchairs pushed right in front of the fireplace with no wood supplied), the kitchen has no oven (only a microwave), and there isn’t a washing machine there, which might be quite good for longer stays. The kitchen is very sizeable and well equipped and we think both those appliances could have easily fitted in the space. The big positives are the huge amount of room each couple has in their respective bedrooms and ensuites, the excellent level of maintenance and cleanliness and the stunning view out over the vines from the large deck, just metres from the Riesling trail that delivers you, in 20 odd mins on foot, right into Clare….. that is if you even WANT to even leave your deck, your little temporary house and that view…..you are supplied with lovely touches like wine, port, chocolates and breakfast provisions and so there’s probably no need to leave!!! The bbq is electric but was adequate for our needs and a fry up brekkie … although note they do not supply veg items like spinach/tomato/mushroom to go with the bacon, eggs and other continental supplies (and no fruit) so it’s worth grabbing a few things in town if you want a hefty breakfast. We would recommend ‘A Break in the Vines’ to anyone! Its irrelevant whether the decor is ‘your style’ or not as the overarching sense is how welcoming this little house is. The ability to split king beds into twin beds might mean it could suit a broader range of groups of 4 though, say parents with adult children or 4 single friends etc. Beautiful!

Owner/operator hung up on us twice on purpose, because we booked through their online agent and not directly (bizarre). Admitted to hanging up and never apologised and then hung up again. The accomodation is very dated, mattress lumpy, questionable bedding, mouldy shower, pet spider, dusty, tiny TV etc etc.

Stayed for 2 nights in The Pavillion cottage , and what a wonderful stay it was! Beautifully appointed cottage with everything you need. Gorgeous decor , comfortable and warm bed, wood fire and air conditioning, spa bath , fully equipped kitchen with supplied continental and bacon , eggs and juice for breakfast , coffee machine , bottle of their own bottled red wine , port, bbq, dvds, books …the list goes on . Very clean and inviting cottage so we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The gardens and property itself is also meticulously maintained with some lovely outdoor areas and right on the Riesling trail . 3 other cottages on the property but well spaced for privacy . Hight recommend !

Our hosts Carol and Russell have produced the best accommodation available in Clare. Once we had settled into A Break in the Vines with our friends we ventured down to the fire pit for drinks with our hosts. After a relaxing happy hour (or two) we spent 2 luxurious nights overlooking the vineyard. Everything has been thought of for your stay. The supplied breakfast was excellent. The property was spotless and problem free. Highly recommend you stay here if staying in Clare. We will definitely be staying there again, but for more nights.

Nothing was too much for Carol and Russell! From the time you booked in they went out of their way to make your experience in Clare as enjoyable as possible and help out in any way they could. The facilities are great, the location is central and you couldn't ask for better guests. A must stay!

So many positives, it's hard to know where to start! We stayed in The Pavilion, the decor and presentation is beautiful, spotlessly clean, complimentary chocolate, port, bottle of wine, eggs and bacon for breakfast, awesome combustion heater with plenty of firewood provisions and the location is very peaceful and private. The owners, Carol & Russell, were lovely and have thought of absolutely everything to make the stay perfect. We can't wait to come back again.

Stayed for 3 nights in "a break in the vines" accommodation which has only been operational since late last year. The place was extremely well appointed with everything well layed out. Bottle of wine and a decanter with port, chocolates, plenty of tea and coffee as well as very generous breakfast provisions. The outside deck amongst the vines was fantastic. The beds were large and comfortable and the spa was a great way to relax at the end of a great day exploring the Clare valley and surrounds. Russell and Carol were extremely welcoming and left nothing to chance. Happy hour on Friday night was a great touch with lots of laughter and some of their own Shiraz which was really nice! We wil definately be back (later in the year in a 1 bedroom accommodation
