Really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was lovely and Jill very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast! The trip to see the penguins was awesome - Jill kindly booked it for us as we didn't know we had to so it is recommended in advance.

Carol thanks for mentioning the Penguins. It is always advisable to pre-book as often the best penguin "experiences" are sold out. I always recommend "Penguins Plus" as the one to book - it is priced at around $49.00 per head (about double the general admission ticket) but is worth every cent. For people wanting the ultimate penguin experience we highly...

We stayed in the seaside studio as there were 3 of us. The bedrooms were good although there is no hanging space for clothes in the main bedroom. Nice bathroom and kitchenette. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Outside space was pretty and we have taken away a good idea for our garden as on the fence was the...

Everything's nice except the WI-FI signal. The room is tidy and clean with attractive fragrance. The house is located in a quiet corner of the town. Breakfast is normal, while the coffee is outstanding. To see the penguins, this is a recommended place to stay.

From the moment we arrived at Holmwood guesthouse we were in love with the place. Jill was so friendly and provided us with such excellent service, giving us a few ideas on places to eat, see and do! We stayed in a spa cottage (driftwood) and it was just perfect. Loved having a spa, kitchen & lounge. Perfect for couples....

Thanks for the heads up on the cobwebs. We were up the ladder immediately we read your review. But don't worry there would not have been any spiders (I hope) as we spray regularly and haven't had anyone report a sighting yet! Really glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return visit. Jill

Just a short walk from the centre of Cowes. Everything else was easily accessible by car. Room was nicely decorated with a modern bathroom. Plenty of tea/coffee in the room and a Weber BBQ in the garden. Two downsides - the cupboard doors in the kitchen needed a decent wipe down and our room was under a tree and we...

Hi Tina - thanks for your review. About the noise on the roof - It's the possums and I apologise on their behalf. Next time try the Guesthouse - I can guarantee no possums can get on its roof. As for the cupboard doors I apologise again. When doing up the kitchen I opted for two pac on all the...

We anxiously watched the thermometer in the car steadily rising as we left Melbourne on route to Phillip Island, the first stop-over on our long journey up the coast to Sydney; first 35c then 37c then as we arrived at our destination, the Holmwood Guest House, at Phillip Island it was a steady 38c. We were earlier than our planned...

Des thank you for your lovely review written on a cold afternoon in Kent. As I write this reply we are experiencing a cold January afternoon in Cowes. Its cold and wet - in fact I am thinking I might have to light the fire - unheard of in January. Still we need the rain. Thank you also for your...

We stayed there from 27 Dec to 29 Dec 2015. The set up of furnitures in the rooms, kitchen and bathroom were very nice. Excellent cottage. Walking distance to the beach and boat jetty. Surely our favourite accommodation in Philip Island.

Fantastic place to stay. Cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Great location, walking distance to shops and beach, quiet and the owner was lovely and couldn't be more welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for New Year's Eve 2015/16. I must say that the location is superb. Very close to the beach, and the shops. We stayed in the seaside studio. Accommodation was clean, but a couple of minor shortages made the stay just that little bit disappointing, one is there is no wardrobe nor an iron, so clothes were permanently...

Glad you had a terrific stay and I am sorry about your clothes. There is a hanging rail in the bedroom off the main bedroom and I did show your wife our laundry where the ironing facilities are but she decided she would wait until she arrived in Melbourne to iron. Unfortunately, given the layout of the cottage there just...

This B and B is lovely, with a pleasant room. In particular, two things stand out; the breakfast was excellent, fresh squeezed orange juice, full grill to order, really good value. But more importantly, Jill (owner) and Judy were perfect hostesses. Friendly, informative, interesting and conversational and both knew exactly how friendly to be and when to leave us to...
