I don' understand the judgment of other travelers. Our room was upstairs and there weren't any escalators. This might be okay, if assistance to carry the suitcases were offered. But no. Actually the WAVES is a roadside guesthouse, which is quite okay. But luxury? Not really (wait, they could have meant something else). By the way, there is no wifi...

We stayed at Waves for one night as part of our trip along the GOR and absolutely loved it. Our room was lovely, spacious & tasteful, with a little balcony from which you could just about see the bay. The bed was big and comfortable & it was a joy to stay there. We decided to eat in the restaurant...

We were let down by another hotel in the area that canceled our room and gave it to someone else.....we stumbled across Waves hotel, and boy are we glad we did! Excellent location, restaurant and coffee shops right outside your door. The room was very large, and a comfortable king size bed. Great to have had a little fridge and...

It was with an open mind that we stayed here because of all the poor ratings it has received. We were very happy with our stay. We were warmly welcomed and quickly into our room. Room 6. The room was very large with a comfy bed, full size refrigerator, coffee/tea making equipment. The ensuite shower room was lovely. The shower...

I'm surprised by all the great reviews of this hotel. My experience was vastly different. For $230 a night, I expect a higher standard of accommodation and professionalism. The layout of the room with bathroom spilling over into bedroom does not make for a very nice atmosphere. Our sheets and pillow case had blood stains on them - see pic....

Arrived late afternoon and checked in. Had a good chat with the receptionist about what was available locally which in October isn't much. Settled into our large room - strange shape. Small patio area but as it was chucking it down it didn't get used. Came with a lovely breakfast in the morning. Tea and coffee in the room.

Pleasant staff but I like my coffee stronger Scones and cakes were delicious Indoor and outdoor dining options No view to speak of but centrally located Indoor recommended to get away from the flies which seem to be a problem at certain times of the year

While this is billed as a boutique hotel with an ocean view, the room was very average. Our view was a tiny peek a boo view over the roof tops from the balcony. When we arrived at the reception it took a long while for anyone to even acknowledge us. We were given two sheets of paper to fill in...

Another stop-over on ocean road drive, allocated room 6 apparently with sea view, albeit but a glimpse over the roof tops from small balcony. Room 6 okay, nothing special but had nice linen, towels & toiletries etc. Also no doubt like other travellers we did find heaving our large suitcases up the narrow stairs a bit of a chore. We...

Very basic accomodation arrived late in the date the restaurant looked inviting ... The tip off should have been the unfriendly interaction and the parked ute piled with cartons that you can't see from the street ....while room was large and clean very basic, rear garden unkept, towels well used, no ambience ...very disappointed considering how much it cost
