We had booked for 4 days at Garden Pavilions. However, after experiencing the beautiful, bright and relaxed cottage we decided to extend our stay for a week! The pavilions are located away from hustle and bustle of Port Fairy's main street but close enough to walk anywhere, be it the beach or to a cafe for breakfast. The pavilion is...

Garden pavilions are lovely studio apartments, with spectacular garden views from every window. Nice and clean with everything you need, heaps of space for a couple, beautiful private outdoor garden space to sit and relax. Quiet spot, short , easy walk to town.

This was not quite what I was expecting. The setting is unique. There are 3 pavilions which are located in a nice area of town. You can walk to restaurants and shops (if you know where you are going). Because of all the trees, the pavilion was darker than I liked (I prefer bright and airy); you cannot drink the...

We were definitely not disappointed with our gorgeous cottage. Nestled in a rambling garden, the ambience was relaxed and very private. Two little wooden porches with French doors made a lovely nook to read or have a coffee. The lounge /bedroom is tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The owners made themselves scarce which we appreciated. Port Fairy is a10 minute...

My partner and I stayed there for our anniversary on Cup Weekend. I knew Port Fairy well as I had family living there for many years. Garden Pavilions was so lovely; clean and relaxing. The gardens really made a difference and it was incredibly private. We rode our bikes into town every day (<5 mins). I would really recommend staying...

My partner and I had a wonderful night away staying in the enchanting cabin style room tucked away in a garden of trees, flowers and herbs. The room has a great spa bath and comfy bed so is perfect if you want to get away and relax! I think we paid $120 for the night and would come back

We choose the Garden Pavilions to stay for our 1st anniversary and were very pleased. The cabin was very clean, spacious and well laid out. Knowing it was our anniversary Toni had left fresh flowers in the room which added to the beauty.

This is our third stay. The surrounding gardens and always create a calm and tranquil experience. attribute. To be able to walk into town or easy access to many attractions completes the seaside holiday.

This garden studio was a quiet oasis for a lovely relaxing stay. 10min stroll to the centre of town, where a wide selection of food & interesting clothes shops abound. Great craft market on the wharf on Sat morn - until 1pm officially, or later if people are about!. You'll need to drive to the beach; otherwise park the car...

As above, a great place to wind down and relax. much care has gone into the presentation of the accommodation and the beautiful gardens. As we stayed in Spring, there was a riot of colour in the garden. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and in different seasons, each time a pleasure.

Port Fairy, Australia

Dear Holly I am the hostess of garden pavilions . I always appreciate feedback from my guests and I thank you for that .Thankyou, for acknowledging the unique setting and the fresh flowers. I also respect your senior reviewer status . I like to use reviews to maintain what guests like and improve on what they dont.

First, I note that you describe yourself as a luxury traveller ; Im not sure what you expect to pay for luxury travel but for the price of $150.0 per night in mid January for a last minute booking is not in the luxury price range in Port fairy.. I think that comes into the "very good value for money " ( a section of trip advisor that you didnt comment on) I hope you thought it was good value for money.

You raise a question about the safety of the water. . The water is town water provided via artesian and services close to 300.000 people along the Great Ocean road. There is no question of safety. I dont like the mineral water taste but it is great in the spa. That is why We provide rain water and jugs.

I am sorry you had difficulty in finding a restaraunt three blocks away when two maps are provided . One, in the port fairy brochure, which is grid marked with all restaurants mapped and another loose leafed and easy to carry. I am not sure how I can improve on this.

Shampoo ; I no longer provide shampoo and conditioner because it wasnt used and was eventually discarded . I,thus ,believed it was superfluous to provide same. I decided to add fresh coffee beans and a grinder instead as an added extra usually charged for in other places

There are birds in the Garden . I love them and Im sorry as a nature lover (self described) that you found them noisy.

There is a large deciduous tree that overshadows the North West side of the particular pavilion Holly stayed in. It is designed to shade the glaring summer sun .I remember when you stayed that it wasnt sunny and quite overcast. There are 14 windows and french doors which provide ample light particularly on the south unshaded side. You also say that you prefer" airy". With 4 metre ceilings and all these doors and windows with accomanying screens I cant accept that the pavilions arnt airy.

I do have wifi connected to my house which is on the property on a large town block . I am a ludite so im not sure why this didnt work for Holly.

There is a dressing room area concealed behind the bed which has shelves and not drawers. There are bedside drawers for privacy

We do not provide clothes dryers but we provide a line and pegs. This is for environmental reasons,

I believed your review to have an overall negative connotation and I think this is unfair' . Im sorry you had a negative experience. if you look at the other reviews you will see they are positive overall . Sincerely Toni
