We had a cousins weekend with 12 of us fully booking the place out including the cottage next door. The shared lounge space was perfect for us all to sit and chat as well as it being the place where the delicious breakfast was served. There were glases to use, a fridge if needed and plenty of plates etc...we had...

This is such a lovely surprise I shouldn't say anything but keep it a secret!! Beautifully appointed rooms and very comfy beds!! In a perfect part of Williamstown with very close and easy access to shops and eateries. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs for breakfast together with yoghurt, fruit salad and freshly cooked cake. We have stayed at The Captains Retreat on about four occasions. Each time we have had the cottage which is perfect for two adults and two children. Comfortable beds, a nice lounge room and small but functional kitchen. The location is excellent, close to all the great restaurants Williamstown has to offer. Melissa and her team are fantastic, super helpful.

Great recommendation for dinner also at Anchorage. The retreat is so relaxing after a very...

We stayed at one of the apartments on the Strand for 3 months. The apartment gave you views across the Yarra to Melbourne which were truly amazing. As for the apartment we found it was comfortable clean and all that you needed for either a long or short stay. Location was ideal and as you watched life go by from...

We started our stay in Australia here and it was everything we could have wished for in top class accommodation. The home of Melissa is welcoming, tasteful and so comfortable. I use the term Home as the label B&B just does not do this wonderful place justice. We stayed in the Lysanda Suite for our first stay and ended our...

Oh what a lovely review! Thanks for that. And you really get extra points for loving Leo. I took a beautiful photo of him today. I hesitate about putting it on the website though because maybe non-cat-lovers might think he is allowed in the guest part of the house (not so!). I'm so pleased you mentioned the rooms you stayed...

Whenever I travel to Melbourne for work this is my "go to" accommodation. It is so good that when my wife & I travelled to Melbourne for a holiday we also stayed here. Melissa and the team are incredibly welcoming, the building is unique and wonderfully restored and appointed. There is always something to discover here. Beds are super comfortable....
