My family and I came for the long weekend and booked one of the 2 bedroom apartments for $537/night which we don’t normally do but did on this occasion for something special. It was on our first night that we noticed the bathrooms and laundry smelt of sewerage which seeped into the bedrooms and main living areas. We went down to the restaurant (only one open for the busy long weekend!) and it took about 20 minutes before a waiter even came over to attend to us. We were then seated and waited another 15 mins with no one even coming to offer us water or take our order. As we have young kids we couldn’t wait any longer and had to order dominos. Kids want to watch a movie? Make sure your devices have 3G/4G connectivity as WiFi didn’t work, we tried on 3 different devices, and even though there was a note advising if having troubles connecting come fo reception - for $537/night why should I have to come to reception to have it fixed? And if you need to write a disclaimer on check in paper work about the WiFi then perhaps look at getting the issue fixed, after all we are in 2021. Limited DVD’s are on offer in reception for an additional $7.95 each a night! Another thing was there was only one air con unit in the main living area which doesn’t reach to either bedroom, so good luck on a 40 degree summer holiday escape! Also no fans in either rooms. And to end a disappointing trip we had a letter under the door on the last morning saying we had an outstanding amount of $0.60 which upon checking my bank account was false. If they did this to every guest each night over the course of a year this would add up, so check your bank accounts!! When checking out, I wasn’t asked how my stay was by the receptionist so I had to bring it up and tell her my concerns which wasn’t welcomed with no reimbursement or follow up actions taken to compensate. And due to this I will be spreading the word to all my friends and family not to bother spending such a huge amount of money for nothing more than disappointment!!!

started with check in , had a new girl at desk who checked me in fine (she was very lovely) but there was another girl There sitting behind the computer, clearly her superior and she gave this poor new girl absolutely NO guidance what so ever! She was extremely rude. I was in room for an hour before someone opened my door, and they had were given the same room! I called the reception to the very rude girl behind the desk of what happened and her response was in an abrupt voice ‘ the room is ofor guest .... your room is...’ as if it was my fault! I called the manager and complained about the service of check in and this instance his response was apologetic and said well I can’t be at front odesk all the time! No but it’s your responsibility to train your staff and make sure the new staff are directed and supported!! Because I’m here for work I like to get room service while working... firstly the wifi WAS NOT WORKKNG THE ENTIRE TRIp! Called reception on 3 occasions they didn’t give a toss!! Meals, first night was steak sandwich, the steak was not very hot and way too salty for my liking, chips were super fresh and hot but the seasoning way to heavy, threw half the meal out! Second night Thai beef salad which was ok still over spiced and they are delivered in a take away container without any serviettes with either meals! I am shocked that they are served in a disposable takeaway container. Myself and my work colleagues will not stay here anymore!

Please do yourself a favour and stay clear of this resort where all they care about is $$$. They don’t know what hospitality is... Read up!! Stayed there recently in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights. Old aircon unit wasn’t heating, so complained about it after the 2nd night (meaning 3rd day morning, I thought may be I didn’t know how to set the aircon correctly). The genuinely super nice technician came and checked it all and said it is faulty and won’t work. The resort wasn’t full at all btw... Instead of offering us another room, they offered us 2 fan heaters to heat the whole 1 bedroom apartment. What?? No apologies btw from reception on the night... Also no follow through the following 2 days of whether it resolved the problem or not.. I did tell the reception the next day (day 4) that it didn’t heat up the room well and we were managing with extra blankets, but even then no offers to do anything about it + they say that this comment wasn’t even recorded by anyone. On the night (when I was offered fan heaters)I had Asked for a partial refund for the same and was asked to speak to the manager on day of check out. When I talked to the manager, he said to talk to the 3rd party website (don’t want to name which one) through which we booked and that the had booked it via another 3rd party for a partial refund. The 3rd party website got back to us saying that Abbey Beach Resort said that all the matter was discussed with me when I checked out and that they had informed me that they can’t partially refund me as they had provided fan heaters to resolve the issue. Hmm.. I definitely don’t recall having that conversation with the manager when I checked out, as it never happened...

Dear Ronak, We are disappointed to read of your 1 star review of the Resort on a number of forums with different comments / perspective with each new review you post. We will continue to respond with the same response, our staff members keep accurate records of guest interactions including maintenance requests, resolving issues and complaints. You reported to our staff on the 3rd day of your stay the heating setting on the air conditioner was not working in your room. The Supervisor whom it was reported to, attempted to resolve the issue by offering portable heaters (which you mention in your review after the technician came to the room – then on the last line you mention you “don’t recall that conversation as it never happened”?) which were sufficient to heat the rooms to that which the air-conditioner would have provided. There is no mention in our duty logs to advise you reported any further discomfort. You spoke to the Assistant General Manager on the 10th May as part of your check-out and advised him of the heating issue you experienced and he advised that we were not able to refund you because you booked through a 3rd party. As far as we were aware the issue was resolved and have advised this to your booking agent.

At Abbey Beach Resort we enjoyed the room facilities of excellent TV with many fox channels.Great for sports viewing! With cooler weather we appreciated the warmth of the room's air conditioner and the indulgence of a relaxing warm in room spa. The resort restaurant provided us with lovely dinners. We found that the resort is a great place to base yourself to explore the South West with visits to other towns and coastal places within easy reach.Always happy to stay at Abbey Beach.

Horrible 2 night stay from start to finish. Bar fridge clunked every hour on the hour so loudly it woke us both up. King sized bed was two beds pushed together - so I slipped down a huge hole every night. Granted, i should of had that fixed after first night but it slipped mind and things got even worse thanks to the extra curricular activities going on next door from the paper thin walls. Seriously, the exaggerated moaning was horrific. Again, hotel management can't control those factors but they all add up. Add to that the hallway smelling of cigarette smoke. Add to that we were celebrating my partner's 40th and the hotel did nothing for her. Again, granted, alot of customers may lie about milestones, I get that...however, a simple card or greeting would of sufficed. I could add more negatives - the smoke alarm going off, lack of information in room, lack of courtesy from checking in, lack of care about transporting luggage, the food etc etc. The fact these matters were brought to attention of management and he answered with excuses rather than empathy or reimbursement shows the way this resort works these days. A glorified hostel at best these days.

Dear Birko73, We were disappointed to read your review of the Resort. It is difficult to respond when we do not have your surname to confirm your stay and assist with our response. When our reception staff are notified by guests of issues with allocated rooms, we do our best to rectify the issue as soon as possible. The issues you have raised could have all been dealt with if reported to staff at the time of occurrence which they weren’t, sadly. Again, because I don’t have your full details I am unable to determine when this was bought to management by yourself – during your stay or at check-out? Our Resort is a non-smoking resort so the hallways shouldn’t be “smelling of cigarette smoke”. It is a very difficult issue to deal with but we do our best to ensure we remain a totally non-smoking Resort. In regards to the lack of information in the room, all guests at check in are given an “in-house newsletter” which contains all the Resorts information, there is also Room Talkers (trianglular cardboard display) in the rooms on the side tables and the newsletter provided provides instructions to download the Resorts app for all the information. If you would like to discuss your issues further please feel free to contact us at info@abbeybeach.com.au
