For their restaurant called El BohĂo- The Smash burger is a must try. Also had the Mahi mahi with root mash- so good, root mash is amazing. Picatta chicken delicious. Breakfast also a hit. Good drinks, great service, lovely ambiance. Prices are average/decent for sit down service in the area.
Check in was easy, the parking fee of about $5 was silly- at least wait till your property is updated and just add it to the rate to avoid the conversation at check in. Parking is a walk in the heat/sun if the lot is full. No one offered to help with bags or seemed concerned with guests who were using a cane to get around. But in general most staff we encountered were friendly.
Was told that some rooms recently were updated but the work wasn’t done very well if that’s the case or we didn’t get an upgraded room. It was decent but bathroom door didn’t close and window in bathroom were broken. Caulking around some edges of trim /shower/ etc was coming apart. The a/c turns off/on in an annoying way but maybe could have played around with settings to see if that changed anything. Pillows were awful but bed was comfy. Floors weren’t cleaned but overall rest of the room seemed fairly clean. Room has a nice size fridge and nice cabinet/desk/headboard furniture. More hooks in the bathroom would be helpful.
Pool area is cute but right off the lobby. It could use a good cleaning on the floor and regular cleaning for bugs floating on top but wasn’t terrible. Did swim in it a little one morning. There was another pool towards the back that maybe was being repaired. Seems like it will be very nice once/if opened.
The disappointment we experienced with el faro was the room itself. The entire floor is tile. That’s fine, except then you get to feel every particle of sand on your bare feet as you walk. Sand comes with the territory when you visit beaches. Carpet is a better alternative for both bare feet and cleaning up sand since a vacuum can be used more effectively. Along with that, the bathroom seemed unfinished since there was no toilet paper roll spool, nor any towel racks for hanging up your towels. There was a rack outside the bathroom but that’s random, you hang towels in the bathroom to dry.
And finally, there’sa fridge in the room but no microwave. So you can save your leftover food and keep it cold, but then you’ll need to also eat it cold. Rooms with a fridge should also have a small microwave so you can reheat food if needed. Overall, I give hotel el faro a 3 because it is a nice location and good amenities, but for the price it needs to improve the rooms themselves.
need to engage with guests, update the rooms and ensure guests feel safe, secure, and comfortable in this environment. I witnessed one guest in distress because they couldn’t make contact with a taxi and the hotel
advised them they had tried to locate a taxi to no avail. I would like to remind the Hotel they are in the Hospitality business and if you need to supply a shuttle do to circumstances then do so.

Only downside is NO TAXI’s. Uber won’t come over here and when they call a taxi for you it’s $20 just to go 5-10mins out. They rip you off with taxi’s here. It was $25 from the airport to this hotel and it was like 10mins to get here. Rent a car!
Thank you all for you services. I will definitely come back you guys when I come back to Puerto Rico.
Peaceful environment. Well located for the Aguadilla area. They are doing some construction, but there was no indication or design photos of what was to come.
