We just came back from Joyuda Beach two weeks ago. We stayed at the Joyuda Beach hotel for 3 nights. Not very impressed by it. The hotel smells and I got bitten by something in bed and felt itchy the whole time. The room is very basic, worst than a Day s inn by American Standard. We had a king bed but they didn't have King bed sheet. So they put two full sheets together to make the bed. The beach is not a good siwmming beach. It has very shallow water about 2 feet the most. The beach is tiny and the sand is not fine. You can't go too far out since there is a breaker between the beach and the ocean. The reef just off the hotel is all dead and so you can't do snorkeling either. We ended up go to Boqueron for swimming and Gilligan's Island for snorkeling. The website photo looks much prettier than the real thing! We asked the staff where was a good place to eat, the only thing they would recommended was the hotel restaurant. In fact, there are plenty of best PR seafood restaurants nearby. The only good thing with the hotel is it is cheap. We only paid $65 including tax per week night. And it is close to all the good seafood restaurants and it is pretty convenient to all the attractions in west PR. If you do decide to stay there, call the hotel directly. You'll get better deal than through some hotel booking websites.

Let me start with the greeting when i arrive it was fenomenal the way Yaritza recieve me with a smile on her face as soon i walked in the main entrance door, that trully made my day.

I visited this hotel with my wife. We found this hotel to be very relaxing and peaceful which it was what we were looking for, it has a private beach where you could rest and be mindful of the sound of the waves, specially when you come from the city of new york with many loud noise. i really enjoy those moments of tranquility. if you looking for peace and tranquility this the place.

The Pool even though is small it is relaxing.

Continental Breakfast is not that great but if you want a nice breakfast their is a Selectos Supermarket nearby where you can enjoy a nice breakfast meal.

The Bar and Restaurant was very good, where you go and spend quality time with family and couples not worry that someone might come and ruin ur enjoyment. The staff was very polite and friendly they made me feel comfortable in family.

Now come a review of the room and hotel sanitary. The hotel was kept very clean at all time, Parking Lots Clean. Yes the rooms needs to be updated specially the mattress my God it was hard they need to change those mattress and it has old furnitures inside but because i know this is NOT a 5 star hotel only a Parador i do understand BUT PLEASE CHANGE THOSE MATTRESS. This was the only problem i encounted.

Would i stay here again MOST LIKELY WILL just bacause of how peaceful it is and also if mattress are soft lol.

Now to the people that graded this Parador very bad or Terrible Don't listen to them, this is a place of relaxation and to have peace of mind and enjoy the night at the restaurant bar with fantastic drinks and music in family while enjoying the view of the ocean and listening to the waves.

Although rooms are clean, they are dark and noisy. Bathroom smells like insecticide. In my appreciation, Joyudas Beach Resort has the potential but owner(s) or managers don't put attention to details. Improvements to rooms and common use areas are required.

we went to the joyuda beach resort 12/26/04 thru 12/29 04. we were not expecting anything great. we traveled p.r. for 10 days for the second time and once out of san juan your not really going to get fancy hotels. this hotel looked ok fom the outside. checked in at 11:00 a.m. the would not let us into the room until 4:00 even though there was hardly anyone there. no problem there were plenty of restaurants in the area to have lunch. we got into the hotel room. after a little examination the place is not really kept up. mold in the corners as well as all along the bottom of the tub, nevermind 6 or 7 guwee things on the bathroom door. still no problem, i was not expecting much. we got settled in and went to the hotel beach. there is about 20 ft of sand, total rocks as soon as you touch the water. no swimming! might not be a problem for some people but it is a non smoking hotel inside and out. we went out exploring, down to boquonron (cool little town) as well as the el faro (lighthouse) as well as a couple of cool beaches. came back to the hotel then went out for dinner in joyuda (ok). went to bed, to my surprise the king bed matress is wrapped in plastic and fitted with 2 sets of twin flat sheets which were wrapped around us in the morning with parts of our bodies on the plastic. still ok with it. went to get a shower, it pretty much dribbled out. i went to the desk to complain. she said she would take care of it. we took off for the afternoon, came back, still a dribble. complained again, said the maintenance person is no longer there, they will fix it in the morning. morning came and still no shower and then we left. i wasn't expecting to much but a shower that worked corectly is 1 of the most important, never mind the cleanliness and bed. simply we will never go back again even though we will be back to cabo rojo.

Never consider this hotel if you want to have a good time or at least a friendly, respectable staff. I considered this hotel because of the information in the Frommers travel guide. I made a reservation for two days by phone and asked about the water and swimming conditions. They told me there was clean, clear water and that there were few waves and good snorkneling conditions. When we came there it was exactly the opposite. The water was not clean but dirty and muddy, there were lots of waves and stones sticking out of the water and near hotel there was a lot of garbage. We told them it's not what they told us about the hotel and it wasn't acceptable and we can't stay here. We asked to speak to manager, but he refused to meet us. As a result we idn't stay at this hotel and they charged our credit card 112$ because of their cancellation policy. Do not stay at this hotel!!!

Without any doubt that was the worst Hotel experience of my lifetime. This Hotel collects all negative and brings it to the next level. We entered our room and found dead cockroaches - the bed sheets were so dirty full of hair etc. - these have not been changed for a long time. The whole room was just dirty, dirty, dirty. The whole room smelled like urine. The reception staff was surprisingly nice but helpless. Finally we slept in our car! I really loved this island and the people, but this Hotel is a shame! IF you really want to book a room be sure to have a big car in case you are to disgusted.

I recently visited this property with my daughter and niece. I had purchased one of those "coupons" for a 3 day stay. It included a welcome artisan pizza, two beers (which they gladly exchanged for soda), free parking and continental breakfast.
From the reservation process with Melba and Yara everything went smoothly and they made us feel right at home. This is NOT a luxurious property but at the end of the day we were just on a quick getaway. Everyone is very professional and friendly. They housekeeping staff was always available for fresh towels and anything else necessary. Rooms are modest but very clean and had all the commodities we needed. Wi Fi, Cable, a/c and hot water! Theres a restaurant on property. It serves Thai, Sushi, Puertorican and Italian Food and on Sundays they have karaeoke night. It seemed like everyone knew each other! It was so much fun. Average size pool, great for kids and the beach is right in front of the rooms (not all of them have a view). There was a lot of seaweed, but hey, they cant control that. It was perfect to sit and read a book or sunbathe. In town theres about 50 restaurants and a supermarket with a cafeteria that serves breakfast if you want something else besides coffee, juice and toast served at the hotel. Theres small boats that take you to Isla Ratones, a small Cay very close to the hotel. There you can spend the day swimming or lounging. Close by you can go ice skating in Aguadilla or go to Las Cascadas water Park. We will definetely "escape" to this hotel/country inn again!!!

I stayed 3 days with my hubby and 2 girls. I purchased a groupon. I was a little hesitant after having read all the bad reviews. Yes, the hotel could use some updating, but for the price...it was not that bad....the beach was right there...perfect for our girls. We had a pool. Restaurant was good. hot water, air conditioning was cool. As for the beds...i am 8 months pregnant and i did not find them uncomfortable at all. Continental breakfast was not that great...just sandwich bread with a toaster next to it for you to toast, jelly and butter spray, juice and coffee. Make sure to take snacks and your own cooler. They have ice in the lobby. Staff was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed or stay very much.

I bought a package from Gustazos without reading anything about the Hotel. Days before my vacations I enter here and was some kind of scary because of the bad reviews and now after I spend the entire Memorial Weekend there I have to says YOU PEOPLE ARE ALL WRONG!

I spend a really nice, comfy, relaxing and entertaining vacations ever. Me and my couple tend to stay around the Island a lot even in Culebra and this is one of the top 5 places we stayed. Since the beggining everyone was very kind and humble. I selected a king bed room, everything from the bed, a/c, bathroom were excellent, hot water, really cool a/c one night we even turn it off, clean sheets and towel. Everyday the cleaning team came to clean our room but we refuse it becuase we are like that, we don't like anyone in our room until we leave, but the team is really nice we gave them our bag of garbage and dirty towels. The hotel offers A LOT of things to do.

The restaurant Asia and Italy=GOOD! I even HATE the sushi and ate it from there. Also there was one bohemian night and other night of karaoke (both were perfect and funny = a really good time) There is a beach available for a lot of things: paddle board and kayak (We did the kayak for two days, the guy that rent them his name is Edgardo a really nice guy) or just chillaxing! There is also a pool with a really blue water.

Another thing I notice very different from another Paradores or Hoteles is that they give the freedom to the guest to do whatever you want, let me explain. They let you to have your cooler on the room, any alcohol that you want, if you want to play dominoes you can too, If you want to have your cooler around the pool you can too. For me this is PERFECT of course you need to do everything with CONTROL and RESPONSIBILITY.

I am just relaxed and happy and will recommend this place with close eyes! Enjoy summer!

I stayed in this hotel for the second time thinking that the service had improved, but it was not like that. Dirty room full of mold and dust, hard mattress (like a rock), old tv, only 2 towels for a room of 4, really?? (this hotel doesn't have extra towels or pillows) pillows full of yellow spots, the bathroom doesn't have a soap holder in the shower and no towels hooks behind the door, no ice machine and the plastic patio furniture was broken and dirty. Definitely this hotel is a nightmare. I do not know how this hotel is still operating.
