Tortugal Hotel in Rio Dulce, Guatemala is a quaint, river side get away. Lots of sailors getting out of the hurricane path or just passing through moor for short and long durations. The setting is perfect for lazy days or to get a pick up for a day’s excursion to Livingston. The only downside is the loud music playing in...

A marvelous place on the river. Nothing to do in Rio-Dulce but a lot to do in this place or just go nothing but relaxing... We took a private boat tour on the river down to Livingston.  7 hours of amazing trip with hot spring and lunch at the attached restaurant. The place itsels is on the river and the...

We stayed at Tortugal for two nights in Sept 2016 and had a lovely time. Our room felt like a treehouse above the mangroves, yet with modern features of hot shower, toilet etc. Food was devine of huge pizzas and highly recommend the Thai salad, s well as banana smoothies for breakfast. We walked amongst the mangrove and road into...

Stayed here for two nights as part of a tour and very much enjoyed it. Staff are lovely and very friendly. Food and service were great and reasonably priced. It's an easy walk into town and to the castle (both under an hour) or just relax in one of the many seating areas and enjoy the peace and quiet. Kayaks...

Great hotel. Is inside the mangroves and have a good walking in a wood bridge. The room is quite good. But maybe can have a better anti-mosquito windows, we have bitten many times last night. Prices of the restaurant are like Europe, but the food and drinks are incredible. Also got a free boat to get the village. In my...

This is exactly like the pictures, really nice cabins and I suppose the only downside (for the comfort part of me) was the bathrooms being shared. However they are very well maintained and you never really have any trouble. Can be a bit noisy due to the proximity to the main bridge in Rio Dulce as you get large trucks...

This place is awesome. The food, location and accommodation is great. I recommend a twin cabin instead of the dorms but either way you have great wooden huts, lounge areas and a fantastic restaurant on the water. We loved lounging around so much that you could easily just chill out at the hotel and forget to see anything around you....

So pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you! for your reminder to be sure to visit the great Canyon of the Rio Dulce, the hot springs and caves on that trip to Livingston.

The hotel is located in a quiet area just down the river from Rio Dulce. The hotel has a boat that comes and collects you. This is a great place if you would just like somewhere to relax for a few days as there is not a lot to do at the resort. They have areas where you can swim...

We booked reservations on Booking.com yesterday to stay at this hotel in a few days time, the rate advertised was great and the pictures looked amazing. I recieved an email from Booking.com confirming my reservation and the price booked. Then an hour later I recieved an email from the Tortugal saying that the rate quoted on Booking.com was incorrect and...

Sorry about your experience which was caused by a glitch having to do with wrong prices being posted. We explained right away the rate was not correct and offered two free breakfasts if the guest agreed to pay the correct rate. If the client did not agree to pay the correct rate, we did honor the posted rate. I must...

Stayed one night only in transit between Livingston and Guatemala city, lovely new wood cabin with fan loved the setting, there seemed to be quite a crowd of yachties who had social activities organised for the evenings quizzes, films etc if that floats your boat. Food good wifi in restaurant!! 😎
