I felt compelled to write a review on this beautiful hidden paradise, which we stumbled upon by chance in our guidebook. Best decision ever to come here. Can not recommend it more. Attention to detail makes the place simply stunning. We stayed in the dorm room which consists of beds above the main communal area. The roof has open gables...

This is an amazing place to stay, only accessible by boat and surrounded by jungle, but still managed to feel like the most luxurious place we stayed in Guatemala. The rooms are wood cabins with porches for hammocks and are really beautifully made and designed. Aska, the owner, and her volunteers are really helpful and not only helped us have...

The place was called Hotel El Perdido, it was only accessible by boat and consisted of a series of bamboo huts with grass roofs, two outdoor showers, and a central open air living space and dining area with clean and comfortable hammocks and couches, reading material and million dollar views. The grounds were set in a wetland, immaculately kept, and...

The Rio Dulce is pure stunning beauty, the El Hotelito Perdido is in the perfect location for daily excursions to see the sights. The lampara waterfall is a must, tranquil beautiful lagoon to swim in with crystal clear cool water. Bring a torch as there are no lights or hand rails on the property and walking on the paths back...

Dear Logan, Thank you for taking time to leave a review and for your helpful comments. We are pleased to know that you liked our hotel's location and that you enjoyed the waterfall Lampara. We are looking into improving our lighting at the hotel. In the meantime, we have a couple of spare torches that guests can use if necessary....

This place was amazing and so was the staff. There are so many fun things to do in the area, I would recommend planning to stay a few nights. The cabins were clean, comfortable and really cool architecture. We did not plan enough time to see everything but definitely will be back. Thanks and keep up the good work

My friend and I stayed at El Hotelito Perdido during June 2016, which is one of the most beautiful and zen-inducing places I have ever experienced. We stayed in the Mango suite, a lovely bungalow which has a view of the nearby river, perfect for both friends and couples. The people that worked there were super chill and happy to...

El Hotelito Perdido is a very special place! Let me start with the statement that I would certainly go back to stay there! It is beautifully located in the middle of nowhere – about 45 minutes boat ride (they will arrange it for you) from the bridge. The concept is unique – the founder and owner (a Polish woman which...

Hotelito Perdido is an amazing jungle hideaway on the rio dulce near Livingston. There is no electricity, except one charging dock in the common area, the rooms are treehouse like cabins (minus being in a tree) and the atmosphere is complete bliss. There are many activities to partake in including kayaking to see beautiful waterfalls, a five Mile hike led...

We couldn't decide between Semuc Champey or Rio Dulce until someone really pushed this place to us. Genuinely brilliant. The river is awesome and this is the perfect place to experience it. Set back from the main river, you feel pretty isolated but in a good way. Hearty food, beer, nice company, Rasta the dog, warm showers and a relaxed...

When you get on a boat from Livingston and start heading out, you are overwhelmed with the majesty of the river, which you get to enjoy for about half an hour on the way to the hotel, which is accessibly only by water. When you arrive at the hotel, you are immediately enchanted by everything: the individual cabins, lush vegetation,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Please email or call us directly if the dates you have chosen show as sold out. Hotelito Perdido is a boutique jungle eco lodge situated in the heart of the Rio Dulce National Park, tucked away on one of the small freshwater tributaries that feed the Rio Dulce. Although it feels like a million miles from anywhere, being just off the popular tourist route between Livingston and the town of Rio Dulce means that the hotel is easily accessible by boat. Both Lonely Planet and Rough Guide currently list the hotel as one of their 'recommended destinations' in the region. The hot springs, the manatee reserve and some beautiful waterfalls are within kayaking distance of the hotel. We rent kayaks and wooden cayucos, we organize various tours (to Livingston, Tiger's Cave, Mayan Q'eqchi village, Manatee Reserve etc.). We offer drinks, homemade food, we make our own bread and we eat our evening meal together, family style. There is dock to swim from, Gym and Yoga House for guests to use, beautiful tropical gardens with fruit trees, plenty of hammocks to relax in, games to play and good books to read. There is communal house with bar, lounge and restaurant, there is a b-b-q area and hammock house by the dock. The hotel can currently accommodate 14 guests. We offer bungalows with private bathrooms, rooms and the Jungle Loft with 5 beds. The hotel is fully solar powered. ... more   less
