Gail and Tony offer the warmest welcome to their home. My four night stay in one of their smaller rooms was cosy and delightful, overlooking the lovely garden and flowing stream. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, with fresh raspberries picked moments before from the garden and locally-sourced products served simply and elegantly. The quality of the food is exceptional. The...

This place is really a find, beautiful surroundings in the Wiltshire countryside. It has all the homely touches and yet wonderfully rustic, a lovely place to stay and visit in the area. The breakfasts are amazing, fresh fruit, pastries, full cooked breakfast, you will leave feeling full and content!

I checked the website and found that the weekend we wanted was available. I called and spoke to a really rude and supercilious man who was extremely unhelpful and curt in his replies; sounded like he was closely related to Basil Fawlty! The calendar on the website is clearly a work of fiction and not updated on a live basis....

Lovely peaceful (visited term time) site in pretty rural setting around the river*, with easy access and pleasant, clean, 'rustic' facilities. Friendly, unobtrusive staff. Basic provisions available, as well as delicious cream teas in the afternoons. Dogs welcome, under control (on leads on site, but plenty of surrounding countryside for off-lead fun and walks with beautiful views). Within walking distance...

Stowford Mill House was like something out of a Jane Austen novel! It was quaint, homely, and beautiful, exactly as depicted in the photographs and description. I stayed here with my family of 6 and felt right at home from the very start. It is situated in a beautiful part of the English countryside, with some picturesque towns a short...

We only stopped off for a cream tea and had one of the best during our stay in Cornwall. Pleasant service and surrounds with old world charm. Had a look around the rest of the site and for campers or stays a lovely place to stop.

We stayed in the family suite - very spacious and comfy beds. Quiet and lovely views over the garden and farmhouse drive. Just a short walk to the river swimming club where I went for a dip. Beautiful but the water was very cold that day. Our hosts were extremely kind - bringing us fruit and tea and biscuits during...

Simply delightful bed and breakfast. Tony and Gail make you welcome in their home. Our room was clean and comfortable, neatly made up. Everything clean and crisp with fresh cut flowers to greet us. Breakfast was delicious, milk, sausage, and bacon from the farm, fresh croissants, yogurt, muesli, and fruit, and of course, the option of a full English breakfast...

loved this site. Lovely next to the river. Friendly campers and staff facilities not too bad at all, though I would agree with other reviews in that they may not be adequate when the site is full. As my wife commented - the loos certainly didn't have that heart sink feeling you sometimes get... Rope swings over the river, interesting...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stowford Mill bed and breakfast is situated within the small medieval hamlet of Stowford Manor. It lies in the beautiful Frome valley, and has the river running through through the back garden. A couple of hundred yards downstream is the only surviving river swimming club that can be enjoyed by all at minimum price. Breakfast is a specialty with many products sourced from the farm itself. There is cream tea served daily in the manor house opposite, and a campsite that some younger members of the family may choose to stay in!! Despite the tranquil nature of the setting, we are within a 20 minute drive of Bath and Longleat Safari Park. ... more   less
