It was so relaxing & rejuvenating to be staying at the Coorg Cliff resorts after the whole Covid & Lockdown stress. The drive, the place, service, food, cottages and especially the staff, are all on point. And not to forget the view is mesmerizing. I think we spent more time in the balcony than the room. It was really cool and unexpected when we got a 3rd night free for booking 2 nights.

They were really prompt on the pandemic rules & ensuring proper sanitization. The number of people & staff in the resort is minimal. All our luggage was sanitized, they have stands everywhere and even the room was sanitized frequently. The staff were wearing PPE kits, masks and shields all the time. You can pre book all your meals & it's served to your rooms making social distancing convenient, while you dine with a view. So it felt really safe.

Given the current scenario i believe Coorg is the perfect place to feel better & Coorg Cliff is the spot.

The name apt and descriptive, on a cliff and in Coorg, this place was suggested by a friend. We reached there by a Friday evening, right about the time to get a beautiful view, prior that we were professionally vetted and sanitised and cleared for stay. Our rooms were read within a few minutes completely sanitized, in these times of uncertainty, this certainly helped my peace of mind. I would go on about the food, but you can go wrong with much here, nature walks, a wide spread panoramic view of hills, guests treated to perfection bhy the ever gracious staff makes you feel bad to leave after the weekend. The property caters to your wants and needs instantly never leaving you lingering. One of the best stays, smiles , views and weekend worth of memories... Thanks Coorg Cliff, you had me at hello, see you soon

Was a memorable trip with lot of good memories. We planned this as 2 families with kids and had 2 birthdays as part of the trip, the overall price experience was pretty good with minor areas of improvement.

Pros:
Location, location and location. You can sit whole day near the infinity pool or balcony if you take a premium valley view rooms. The views are breath-taking.
Food was pretty good and the varieties and items were changed consistently(suggest weekend as weekdays the items are limited due to less crowd)

Cons:
I will call it areas of improvement, I guess they can improve on room cleaning, replacement of water bottles, tea n coffee needs follow up( May be due to crowd and less staffing)
Cost of food is very high for alacarte.

This is a very picturesque resort situated at a gorgeous location and with great views. The staff was very cooperative and obliging. Massive rooms especially the one with Hill view that we had booked had lovely scenes.

The first day of our stay was indeed great and every thing was as per our expectations but during the second day is when things got really out of hand. In the evening we stepped out for a nature walk with the in-house naturalist, no sooner did we walk a few hundred meters a huge gang of 15, 20 people descended from nowhere. No one with mask, no social distancing and even for a small thing like an insect they virtually crowded, swamped literally fell on each other. We were running away from them scared for any sneeze, cough or touch and just hurried back to our resort. We complained to the reception and as usual an apology and were assured it would be taken care.

We came back after an hour for dinner and we had our second shock when we were told that no table service and it would be buffet. Although on the first day it was table service. This (Table service) was promised to us during the booking and I was specifically told that there would be no crowding and I was very adamant on it. That big group came back and as usual there was massive crowding at the buffet counters, kids from the same group literally putting their fingers inside ice cream containers. It was a very gross. Fail to understand who could not a waiter be positioned at least at this specific counter?

We complained again and someone called Varghese called us, apologized and assured us such mistakes would not be repeated and mentioned that the big crowd has been asked to leave. Turned out to be another lie as the next day during breakfast the same crowd again was seen. Although we had plans to stay longer but looking at such a careless attitude of the management and careless covid protocols followed we immediately decided to check out.

Other things that we did not like, room cleaning in spite of multiple reminders was done late noon, bizarre explanation given was that it’s done only after 3pm. The furniture/interiors in the room were dated, Poor wifi connectivity, forget room not even in the reception area, break fast counters were minimal with no live counters, the toiletries in the room were not adequate, no slippers or hand towels provided. For the rate that was charged these basic things should and must have been provided. The resort had the outdated key lock system with a heavy key chain which was difficult to carry along, branding themselves as a resort why can't they have a RFID door lock?

Having a sanitizer pedestal stand and checking temperatures is even done in Kirana stores. Rating 2 stars one for the location and the other for the staff. I’ am sure there would be a reply to this justifying and giving bizarre reasons, etc. But specifically, on covid this place was found wanting.

This place is lovely, but it's not good value for money.
1) Room was nice, unexceptional. Could hear people in the rooms around us.
2) Other people at the resort could be quite loud at times
3) Food quality was only 'ok',
4) Very poor hygiene by guests and hygiene management from staff during COVID. Saw guests coughing on buffet food. Recommend having hand sanitizer as you enter dining hall, and people wearing masks around the food serving areas.
5) The turtles are cool, but could they have an island in the middle with some plants? Not a nice enclosure.
6) Great staff, so friendly, helpful, and wonderful!
7) The estate was great fun to explore, so much to see, and the nature walk and the guide were fantastic

In general, it was lacking the 'extra' that I expect for the price. For instance, supplying guests plastic water bottles is so bad for the environment, suggest following Marriott's lead and having glass, re-usable bottles. The sheet was too short for the bed, so it came off every night and I'd wake up sleeping on the bed itself. Little things like this really make a difference.

Coorgs Cliff Resort is truly a heaven of South India - a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and nature. Right from the reservations to check out, their teams proactively coordinated internally to assure pleasant stay for us. Since this was our first travel in Covid situation, we were concerned about rules and restrictions, but to our surprise, all covid formalities were as per guidelines, very seamless and with a touch of care. We stayed one week long, and during our stay, we never missed home food, restaurant manager along with staff member Ravi Rai(Darjeeling), not just served the homely, hot and fresh food on time, but had also put additional efforts to take care of our food restrictions and preferences. All types of accommodations at Cliffs resort are well designed, especially the premium valley room that gives a unique feeling of living and dining in clouds.

Had an amazing stay at Coorg Cliff Resort in Jan 2021. The premium valley view was mesmerizing and we throughly enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel. The location of the resort and the area in and around is perfect for mini rejuvenating tour. It is recommended to have own personal vehicle during the stay as most of the sight seeing places are 35-40 kms away from the resort. Special Mention to @Hari from Restaurant and his team of Chefs & Waiters for providing us Yummy food all the times throughout our stay. Though due to Covid protocols majority of the activities were closed, however the staff did best to their abilities to make the stay refreshing and memorable. Thanx to @Roseline and @Ravi from Darjeeling for ensuring best of the services at all times.
Kudos to the complete Team

I was searching for a fine resort in Coorg to celebrate our wedding anniversary and came across this property. Oh mine, this is one place which is apt for such occasions. Located in a serene location amidst thick coffee plantation and their premium rooms facing beautiful valleys, it will surely make you wish that the time pauses and doesn't move forward. Wonderful hospitality, tasty food, hygiene ambience and picturesque landscapes around you.. wat else can you ask for?? Must visit for people planning to go to Coorg.

Lastly, not to forget, pls do meet Ravi Rai (staff member who hails from Darjeeling) who was a surprise element for us, as his fluency in kannada will leave you speechless.

I upgraded to Premium valley rooms at the resort itself by paying 4K extra. Overall paid 26K for my 2 nights stay, expecting a similar experience. The resort is overrated at your site, while the location is good, the room was JUST NOT WORTH the premium price we paid for, absolutely ridiculous. At the hotel, did not quite understand their logic of no room service, the hotel was packed and so were the dining areas , so the infection is more likely in the dining area rather than through room service. The staff at the dining area, did not wear any gloves, few wore masks properly and few did not.
In addition, the menu had exorbitant prices and the quality of food went on south with every meal. Rooms are big, beds were queen size, could have been king size and not bouncy, people with back issues will not enjoy the stay at all. Washrooms are weird, they partitioned toilets and wash area which does not give a premium look and feel when they sell the room as Premium valley rooms. The only positive we found was the size of the balcony and somewhat the view, we earlier stayed at Porcupine Castle & The Heritage which we had a far better experience overall.
