Rin Con, Puerto Rico has always had a special place in my heart although the environment and economy there is not the greatest, given that information, "Villa Cofresi" definitely took me by surprise when all of its services and experience were beautiful. My family of 6 and I stayed in an airbnb for a total of 7 days in Puerto Rico, and among its house cleaning, care, and location it had to be one of the best accommodations I've had the pleasure of staying at in Puerto Rico to date. Typically, Rin Con is not the ideal destination for a tourist in Puerto Rico as I'm sure many would prefer San Juan, but this Villa gives immediate access to gorgeous beaches and friendly neighborhoods. I would recommend this location for those who are traveling to visit relatives in a town they hold close to heart.

Very well run hotel right next to the ocean. The grounds are well kept. Walking access to restaurants and bakeries and groceries and bars etc. Also an easy 20 min walk to downtown shops and restaurants (all via a sidewalk…no walking in the road).
Had a standard room, which was modern in design. The room and bathroom were very clean. Everything is tiled (no nasty carpeting), which I greatly appreciate at any hotel, but especially important at a beachside hotel. My one suggestion is to replace the mattress and pillows. They felt a bit lumpy and have seen their day.
The bar is outstanding. It’s large and inviting. Good quality food is served. The pool area has plenty of loungers & chairs. There is easy beach access with showers and food sprayers for your return. There’s also a large lawn area with loungers. A nice quiet spot to lay out and look at the ocean.
If you require a golf course and tennis courts and suit jackets for dinner this is not your place. If you want a kicked back beach vibe where you can jump from pool to ocean and then sit in your swimwear at the open air bar you have just found your Rincon hotel.

The Deluxe King Third Floor room was just perfect. The ocean view from the private balcony was awesome and was so close that we could hear the waves all night long, even with the balcony door closed. How soothing! The staff were all super nice. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both excellent. The front desk provided an umbrella and chairs and beach towels plus there were two beach chairs in the room and two beach towels. A/C worked very well. Maid service was great. Shower was excellent. It was great to have a gym to use (even though some of equipment is a bit older). The only negatives were the bathroom was lacking in counter space and the shower was modern/open concept but kind of made for a wet bathroom floor. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights with family and had a pleasant experience. The hotel is located right on a private beach, the rooms are spacious with fresh towels provided daily and both the housekeeping and front desk staff are lovely. Only complaint about the room was that the bathroom had some mildew and rust on the towel rack.
We ate at the hotel’s restaurant twice, as the ambiance was nice. The first night we enjoyed our food and service was good however the second night we ate there, our dining experience was greatly diminished. The food and service were both mediocre. The restaurant was busy that night but seemed understaffed as wait times were high and it took 40 minutes for us just to reach the waiter to ask for the bill.
Also, I was extremely disappointed with my meal that night. I had ordered a club sandwich (for $12) and received a sandwich with just bread, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. This was shocking because I did not ask for a vegetarian version and a club sandwich is known everywhere to have meat as it is traditionally: lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, chicken and/or ham and bacon. I’ve gotten this sandwich in many restaurants around the world, have never received it without meat and have never been this disappointed with it.
Overall, the hotel was very nice but the restaurant could use improvement.

This is our second stay at the Villa Cofresi and once again give it the highest recommendation but with some caveats. Always get an ocean front room (a bit pricier but a must do to the layout of the hotel). If you heed this advise you will not be disappointed with the views and tranquillity the wing where these rooms are located will give you. 2) take advantage of the folding beach chairs in your closet. These are perfect for sitting at the water’s edge right behind the hotel. 3) have one of their signature cocktails (the Pirate)…2 of those and you are flying low. Don’t be frustrated with parking (ie- if they are full in their main lot). There is plenty of parking in the lot right up the street and it’s safe and free (so chill). Walk to the town plaza…don’t be silly and move your car for a leisurely 1 mile walk (doable even in good flip flops)

We stayed for here for 4 nights on our round the island Puerto Rico trip. I had booked a deluxe king room with balcony and the room was absolutely fantastic. It was spacious and the balcony faced the sea. In the evening we would sit and watch the pelicans fishing just off the beach as the sun set in front of us. At night we fell asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach.
The hotel itself is lovely with open spaces housing the bar and restaurant which means you can eat and drink whilst enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves. We had a problem with our hire car whilst there and the hotel staff were really helpful and let my husband use their phone to call locally as we had UK mobiles.
Given what we paid to stay in other hotels on our trip we thought our room was fantastic value. Rincon was also a great location with lots of restaurants. If you can book a room with balcony at Villa Cofresi you won’t regret it.

I read some of the reviews and decided to give Villa Cofresi a try and I am glad I did. We had an absolutely wonderful vacation here, and it is largely due to the service of the employees at this resort. Service was excellent from the front desk as well as the bartenders and waitresses in the bar and restaurant. My initial experience was not great, the room we were given was not very nice, right near a staircase with a window facing the pool and a walkway that every uses so we would not have been able to keep the blinds open. We went to the front desk and they quickly moved us to another location that was perfect. Quiet area but a beautiful view and short walk to a balcony facing the ocean. A/C worked very well and the room was clean with a small refrigerator. We didnt use the TV much but it has only local stations. The most impressive feature of this resort is the view of the ocean from the bar/restaurant and pool areas. There is seating along the railing directly over the beach. Sunsets are spectacular. In spite of the heat (July), we felt comfortable sitting in the bar area because of the breeze from the ocean. There is direct access to the beach and many people were swimming in the ocean. There are no chairs or umbrellas on the beach, you would need to bring your own. The pool is very nice although it is smaller than it seems in the pictures. There were alot of people there so we didnt spend much time in the pool area but it was nice and clean. The resort is located within walking distance of other restaurants and an area of food trucks and stalls with local foods. The food at the restaurant in the resort was excellent and also very reasonable. We drove to Aguadilla and Aguada as well as Crashboat beach. All are within a reasonable drive although the roads are a bit of a challenge. Overall, an amazing experience, everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely plan to visit again. One suggestion when you are booking, look at the hotels website as well as other external sites. There were more room types available by booking directly with the hotel.

I love this hotel. I intended to stay for six days, but a single overnight convinced me to book another four days. That morning, I walked up to Zeida at the desk and said, "The sky is too pink, the sand too soft, the ocean too relaxing, the view too spectacular." What I didn't know then but do now is that the employees are exemplary- every single one.
By the way, the nightly cost here provides a nice hotel in Boston without the sea of people catering to your every need. Meals here are cheaper than local restaurants.
A long list of now friendly faces - I've forgotten too many names - including Braulio, Eddie, Wendy, Sonia, Vani, Angela, Saltares, and Kevin - all a tribute to the person in charge of hiring. I'll be back.

This place is special. I came here with my family when I was a kid in the 80s. Now I’ve returned with my own children, one of whom is critically ill and physically disabled.
Upon our arrival Sandra, the 2nd generation owner, welcomed us at the gate and introduced us to the manager on duty, the life guard and the restaurant manager. She told them all to take excellent care of us.
Then she personally made sure that the beach would be accessible for my daughter. Throughout our stay she and the other workers took incredible care to make sure that all the facilities were accessible and fun for our family.
At many resorts the experience is just fine. At this one you feel cared for like a member of the family.
We will be back for sure. Extra props to George, the lifeguard who guarded my daughter as if she was his own.

We are part of a group of local families that selects local hotels to spend our hard earned money and help move the economy in our island. This month we selected Villa Cofresí because we were doing business near Rincón. We rented the most expensive rooms, they had a great ocean view and sunset view. The rooms were modern and very clean, something hard to find these days. The beach has lost almost all of its shore, bring water shoes as there are rocks in the beach, but it is a family friendly beach. You can walk to the right and find a larger shore at the hotel next door. We had a great time taking into consideration the new COVID-19 rules. If you are using the pool I suggest you get your turn first thing in the morning, you will be with fewer people and the pool will be cleaner. We dined and had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, most of the waiters were great and attentive. We met another entrepreneur among one of our waiters and we had an excellent time. Because we are a huge mixed family (9 in total), we dined right beside the main dinning room and had a nice large table arranged just for us. The menu prices are reasonable, but the food quality is just ok. I really was expecting better quality food, for the price I was totally not expecting reheated food (like the “tostones de pana”). On the morning of our last day, we were waiting to get breakfast near our usual spot, the morning was quite busy, so after 15 minutes of waiting and no one available to serve us, we decided to “help” and arranged our tables ourselves in the exact way they arranged them for all our past meals. The second we got the tables together, Alejandro, our waiter for that day scolded us in a very rude way and yelled at us that what we were doing was “illegal” because COVID-19 rules forbid to get more than 6 people at the same table, we politely apologized and told him we were helping doing the same arrangement we had for all of our meals at the exact same spot. He was visibly having a hard time that day, he told us that “ok” we could have the table arranged that day (after yelling at us it was illegal). We told him we were vegetarian, so we would take our “breakfast burrito” with no meat. He brought our burrito with no meat, but our potatoes had bacon! We told Alejandro that our plate had meat and repeated we were vegetarian and his response was “you told me you were vegetarian when asking about the burrito but said nothing about the side dishes!”. We were completely stunned, this is the first time a waiter had addressed to us in this way, he was having a hard day and almost ruined ours with his behavior. He never got a glass of water for my son, he never brought water for us, period. I wish he would get some classes about treating people. We are probably not going back to Villa Cofresí because of this reason alone. We got up and only left a 15% tip to let him know about how bad he treated us. We should have left 0%, but he probably has a family to feed and we are not monsters. In summary we recommend this hotel if you need a clean place to stay with a good beach and vibe, but you will need to eat elsewhere.

Dear Lorell, Hola from Villa Cofresí. First of all, we appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review about your experience in our facilities. Thank you for mentioning our cleanliness, COVID-19 protocols, pool, beach and our attentive staff. We offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenient with one of our co-workers. It does not represent the level of service that has characterized us for 55 years. Please rest assure action will be taken immediately. It was a pleasure having your group with us.
