We stayed in the lower level overlooking the pool and loved it. The room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was on point and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating. Having a great restaurant and bar outside our room made for a lively atmosphere (we enjoyed the live music and the ambience of tiki torches at night). The staff was very conscientious of guests and quieted the place before 10pm. Sleeping with the lull of ocean waves was very relaxing. We can’t thank the staff enough for a wonderful stay and look forward to being back.

Just returned from a 4 day stay at this wonderful inn. Location is perfect if you are looking for a place right in front of the beach. I loved the fact that the pool faces the ocean and you have full view of the beach. The room was very cozy and tastefully decorated in a beach theme. Everything looked clean and modern. ( being next to the beach requires a lot of maintenance and the whole inn was spotless) Very private and quiet. The perfect getaway for the pandemic that requires social distance since we hardly saw or interacted with other guests. When we arrived there was no staff at the inn, keys and instructions were left on site. Easy to access and no problem getting to our room. Nancy, the inn representative came in during the daytime and was very friendly and helpful. Answered our questions and got us some ice. Rooms have a small refrigerator, so you can bring your favorite beverage since there is no restaurant or bar on site. The only downside was that because of the pandemic, the restaurant is currently closed and there is no coffe machine in the rooms. So, coffe lovers, you must get in the car to get a cup of coffe because none of the walking distance locations serve coffe in the morning. The closest we found was Cafe 413 a short drive from the inn. For dinner and lunch there are plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from.
Highly recommend this inn for anyone who wants a quiet and beautiful getaway!

This is a lovely spot in the Puntas area of Rincon. Our family had 2 oceanfront rooms with #254 being our favorite, it has a balcony area with seating to play games, hang out and watch the sunset drink in hand. Perfect. The restaurant goes all day/night with music so be aware that there is no calm to be had if that is your vibe. If you want to use the pool you are doing so amongst the restaurant crowd, not ideal. No private areas for hotel guests and the kitchen exhaust smells in the back rooms are the negatives for me.

Casa Islena sadly has changed. It is no longer "a place of tranquility and relaxation" as the website indicates. it is now more of a night club than a hotel. I am glad to see that since our stay last week (2/14-2/17/24) an alert has been added to their website about the 7 day a week night club ambiance. You need to know that the musicians bring loud, huge speakers, so you will hear the music and DJ all through the hotel (we met guests from the upstairs rooms who shared the same experience) and more predominantly in the two rooms next to the pool (where we stayed) Also, the website states the music ends at 9pm. It doesn't and instead it ends at 10pm, although the concierge told us 9:30pm but the restaurant staff kept the loud music going until 10pm. This also means that the drunk restaurant guests stay late. The restaurant staff also have to clean up. They move tables, bang dishes and talk loudly late into the night. We couldn't go to bed until midnight when the loud music, restaurant staff and non hotel guests left. The restaurant opens early at 7am so you are awaken by moving tables and the kitchen banging dishes etc. You also can't relax by the pool since the pool area has been replaced by restaurant tables. Therefore, you have to share the pool with many restaurant guests. We were here on a vacation, but I also wouldn't select it for business travel. I would have to head out to the beach area (no connection) to work and take business calls. We have visited Casa Islena in the past and truly enjoyed our stay; thus the reason we selected to stay here again. We had no idea of the changes the new ownership made. Had we known of the new "ambiance" as the owner told us we would have easily selected a different hotel. Full, honest disclosure of the new ambiance would have been much appreciated. Also, if you have a car, hotel guests do not have parking priority. Most nights we had to park away from the hotel since the limited hotel parking is taken by all the night club guests. Sadly, we will not be returning to this once beautiful and once truly tranquil hotel

Eight of us went for dinner. Seven meals were very poor. Pasta dishes with just cooked pasta— no oil/butter/garlic, just a few shrimp. Salad ordered as dinner with an appetizer was skimpy. Rice and beans to go with a dinner were substituted with root vegtable(which tastes fine when done right). Five of eight dishes were just slightly warm, not close to being hot. For the cost, very disappointed. Sat next to the pool at a table to eat. Don’t bother…

We just finished a stay at Casa Islena. We loved the location and the hotel is very charming. We booked through booking.com and got the least desirable rooms. 104 had zero privacy. Be aware that this hotel is basically a busy restaurant with a few rooms to sleep. Our door opened up directly to the restaurant area and we had to step around musicians every night just to enter our room. Our two teens had room 104 which was very dark and under the stairs in front of the trash. The lovely sounds of the ocean were often drowned out by restaurant workers singing loudly late into the night. Rooms are clean and basic. More of a motel feel. Bottom line…beautiful hotel, loud restaurant atmosphere and very little privacy.

We stayed at Casa Islena during our annual trip to Rincon. This was our third time staying at the property, and we've already booked for next year. We love the casual atmosphere and the location right on Sandy Beach. Our room was huge, and we found it to be clean and comfortable.

As other reviewers have pointed out, there is live entertainment each evening. This worked well for us. We'd return from be beach each day; shower; and then have a drink at the bar while listening to the music. Great way to start the evening. We'd then head out to one of our favorite Rincon restaurants for dinner, and by the time we returned, the live entertainment would be wrapping up. My nights, we have one last drink at the bar before turning in.

We just got back from spending a week at Casa Islena and we are already missing it. The inn itself is well appointed and perfectly situated right on the ocean and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, yoga, and several surf breaks. We stayed in a smaller room for half of our stay and when we saw one of the ocean front rooms being cleaned we asked if we could upgrade and they moved us into the ocean front room with balcony without any charge. It could have been nicer of them. We loved having the balcony to sit on and watch the surfers and whales (yes - so many whales!) and the sunsets each night. The pool was so nice to have too if you don't surf and want to cool off. Every morning I went to yoga across the parking area and my husband surfed multiple times a day. It was the perfect place for us. Domes beach, Marias beach, Pools beach as well as other great restaurants and bars are all within a few minutes drive from Casa Islena. We absolutely loved Rincon and would happily stay at Casa Islena again on our next trip!!

Beware! This is a restaurant/beach club (though not much beach) pretending to be a hotel as well. Rooms either are dark and nearly windowless or front directly onto the pool and bar. Loud music day and night. Restaurant is clearly popular with rowdy crowds, so forget finding peace, quiet, or privacy. The shoreline is gorgeous and there’s a better restaurant a bit down the beach at Tamboo. But do NOT stay here unless you’re looking for a party scene (mainly from mainland US).

Casa Islena was a happy accident. While we were not staying there [we were at Kasa Maui down the road] we ate at Casa Islena every day. The attention to detail is what makes it. From the shape of the tables that allow for sitting close together with your love, each with it's own umbrella to accommodate sun and rain. To the beautiful location to hear the waves cashing and see the sun setting. You want to feel relaxed, heard and be well fed etc., on vacation. Casa Islena has it all. The brunch was plentiful, fresh and hot when served. Fresh juice, delicious coffee. The dinner portion were plentiful and loaded with fresh local flavor. The staff....forget it!!!. A restaurant can have the best food but if it comes with a scowl from a server it is all down hill. Every single staff member at Casa Islena seems to by in sync. From the lovely receptionist, hostess, table servers and runner/bus person. Light conversation, knowledgeable of the area and willing to offer suggestions that only improved an already great vacation. When service is that good it's because managers create a good atmosphere. Let me end with this, you must have the FLAN!!!! If you have had flan before and thought, not for me, have it again. It is homemade and the best I have ever had. I can't wait to return to this beautiful gem in Ricon.

Walking distance from Casa Isleña is Tamboo great place, great view, great food. A short drive away less than 10minutes Red Flamboyan and Franciscos inside The Lazy Parrot Hotel. Like 15 or 20 minutes away you will have the downtown area with more choices like Ana de Cofresi inside Villa Cofresi Hotel they make great steaks and yummy rice & beans. Other great local restaurants in the area go to trip advisor under Rincon top ten Restaurants.Ennoy

I have always rented a car, however I wanted to mention that I hope you are not flying in to San Juan! Aguadilla (BQN) airport is about 45 minutes to an hour drive, whereas San Juan is 3 hours- more in traffic.... Casa Islena is fabulous, on one of the best breaks in Rincon, but there is a lot of other beaches and restaurants worth going to. Street walk on Tuesday night downtown, RBC (rincon's craft brewery) and a lot of other food and drink options... I recommend having a car, but if not, hopefully aguadilla over SJ will save you a small fortune in taxi fees, plus more time on the beach! cheers! enjoy your trip!
