Welcome to our Bed and Breakfast in Dundas The Homestead 1867. This house offers two gracious bedrooms with a shared luxury bathroom. The house was built in 1867 and it was owned by one family who lived there for many generations. We will continue their tradition in being stewards of the house. It is a pleasure to share the history with you.We hope that you enjoy its classical decor and the beautiful garden. This bed & breakfast is an ideal place for a short break or longer stay in the Heritage District of downtown Dundas. It is just a few steps to a great variety of shops and restaurants. McMaster University in Hamilton is a short ten minutes drive away from our house. The Dundas Valley is very attractive for all kinds of outdoor activities. Hopefully we can welcome you in The Homestead 1867.

A meticulously cared-for home with a friendly and helpful host. Accommodation was spectacular, comfortable, roomy and had a generous and delicious breakfast. Could not have been happier. Would highly recommend it!!

Highly recommend Homestead B&B in Dundas, Ontario. It is a beautiful home on a quiet street within steps of downtown Dundas. We stayed in bedroom on main floor near dining room and super quiet with ensuite bathroom. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. You could not ask for a better host than Tom. Wonderful stay for our anniversary!

I've written reviews before, but this one will be a bit longer because you absolutley must stay here. Our family of 4 just returned from staying at this amazing B an B.. With the 2 bedrooms, we also got 2 full and newly renovated bathrooms, our own living and dining rooms. PLUS access to a fully equipped kitchen all separated from the owners unit. Located in a quiet, mature neighbourhood, walking distance to cute downtown Dundas, graced with a small wooden front porch with 4 comfortable chairs. Keyless entry..OMG.. no key worries! Immaculate! The bedding and linens were high quality and extremely comfortable, refreshed daily if desired. Nespresso coffee and bottled water included throughout the day.. Mr. Ton has thought of everything. Clearly, they are seasoned travelers who know how to discreetly pamper. Piece de resistance: BREAKFAST... Abundant buffet and a warm course , crepes, omlets, eggs accompanied by FRESHLY (I saw the juicer) squeezed OJ. Don't stay at a hotel! This was a very rewarding experience.

Such a beautiful, well restored 154+ year old home with the most wonderful Dutch host, Ton. We stayed 3 nights and it exceeded our expectations. Ton was a gracious and accommodating host and made our stay perfect. His daily breakfast was delicious with daily features to change it up. More food than we could eat! The home is beautifully restored and the grounds were very well manicured. This is the best location possible on one of the nicest streets, and less than a 3 min walk to the main, downtown Dundas strip cafes and restaurants The bedroom and bed were very comfortable as we slept peacefully each night without hearing any sounds from outside or the home itself. We were also conveniently located only 5 min drive away from the wedding venue we were attending. And close to highway access so we could explore Niagara wine region. If you are coming to Dundas, don’t hesitate and stay here!!! We would highly recommend for anyone

This charming B&B was perfect for the 4 nights we were in Dundas during a family reunion and we were able to easily walk to some events in downtown Dundas which itself is treat to visit. Coming from BC it was very different to stay in a real heritage house built in 1867 and so carefully looked after by Ton our host. We stayed in the Valley Room which provided every amenity we needed and has an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was as extensive as one required, with the option of continental style or the addition of a cooked main course all very fresh and nicely presented. With family in the area we will be back and certainly hope Ton will again be able to accommodate us.

We stayed one night at the Homestead and loved it so much we returned later during our break. The house is lovely, tastefully furnished and decorated. The garden room is just so comfortable. Ton also did us a lovely breakfast with great gluten free options. Free parking on the street in front of the house. Will definitely stay again when we return to Dundas.

I had the pleasure of staying one night in the Garden Room. I only wish I could have stayed longer! The Homestead 1867 is a cosy, spacious and very pretty century home where host Ton made me feel genuinely welcome. I travelled to Hamilton for meetings at McMaster University and this house is the ideal location for that purpose. Less than 10 minutes from campus by car, it is a world away. Dundas is a heritage village that has nothing in common with 'steeltown'. The Homestead is on a wide, leafy avenue of vintage homes, each with great character. It's just around the corner from Main Street, where I dined at a perfectly wonderful English pub (go instead to the Thai further down the street if you don't like carbs!). I highly recommend The Homestead 1867 - breakfast was fresh, homemade and delicious. Everything about this charming home made me feel as if I'd had a holiday while working.

Stayed here in August 2017 for 6 nights. our host Ton was great, nothing being too much trouble. We stayed in the Garden Room which is spacious and has everything you could need. A very good breakfast too! The location is great for the centre of Dundas, easy to walk into and around the town. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit our family in Dundas.

I stayed at the Homestead 1867 for three nights whilst visiting the Hamilton area on business. And what a lovely place! I felt very at home and the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were immaculate. The only potential downside for some guests could be there wasn't a TV in the room, but I'm not sure if this was the case for all rooms, and to be honest it's not something I missed. The house is beautiful, peaceful and has a lot of character. The B&B guests have access to the whole ground floor, which meant as I was the only one staying I had it all to myself! Ton was polite and welcoming, yet not overwhelming. He was very helpful and even called me in England before my stay to assist with my credit card payment and was very happy to let myself and my colleague use the dining area to work during the day. The local area is lovely, with a park just around the corner (which I liked to run in) and only a street away from the main restaurants and shops. I hope to visit again one day and I can thoroughly recommend this place to anyone staying around the Dundas area. Thank you Ton!

Stayed here while visiting family nearby and from the moment ton welcomed me at the front door I felt "at home". My room had a very very comfortable queen bed with a duvet whose weight was just right for an end of May spell of rainy weather. I appreciated the big closet and desk, the immaculately appointed new bathroom with ample hot water and white towels that really dried a body just out of the shower. The view out my winow of the garden with its huge ferns, centaurea and so much more helped me feel completely relaxed. Breakfasts were a treat with lots of buffet choices of fruit, granola, muesli, croissants, whole grain rolls, yogurt, coffee - and more, but Ton's breakfast special of the day was the piece de resistance, especially the crepe with fresh strawberries and dark chocolate. I'd also like to call your attention to the 1897 panoramic photo in the dining room of Dundas and the Escarpment with The Homestead 1867 clearly visible. The walk into King St. in Dundas with its shops and restaurants is only a couple of blocks and I found it convenient to meet friends there for a meal. I really try to use a B&B when I travel and this one is a real winner in my book. I'll be back.
