We have stayed before. After having pre booked we knew that there would not be supper and that was fine. But after a long day on the road we would have appreciated if the manager had offered something cool to drink and we did not expect it to be free of charge. The free WiFi had to be negotiated. Bed was okay and room was clean. We did not take breakfast which was was a relief to the manager...
This hotel is close to the Namaqua National Park were the wildflower displays are stunning. We arrived there at 2pm to a deathly silent place. The owner greeted us in passing by reception & we were booked in by one of the staff. The room was very clean, but basic. Supper was a buffet that I would classify as average home cooking. There was no atmosphere/vibe at the hotel & having seen all the flowers we wanted to see, we cut short our stay by a day & opted to return home earlier. The owner was so kind as to "refund" us for the second night by giving us supper & drinks on the house.
Perfect stop on the Westcoast flower route. Close to the Skilpad Nature Reserve which is a must for flower viewing. The rooms are basic but scrupulously clean. Most open onto a lush courtyard. Tea + coffee in room. Dinner was delicious- good home style cooking. Drinks on varanda a must. Owner very welcoming. Recommended
being at the mercy of a tour guide I wad a bit apprehensive on arrival. How quickly that changed. Wonderful greeting by owner who appraised us of the severe drought conditions in the area and also the severe water restrictions. None the less all rooms had on-suite bathrooms and showers on very comfortable rooms. Meals were served in a spotless dining room and were well presented. Limited menu but enough choices. Staff was most helpful. Would recommend a stay-over without hesitation.
Very central when viewing flowers, close by popular Skilpad camp in Namakqua Reserve. Camping site is private with a fire pit and water. Ablusions are clean an nearby. Pre paid washing machine available for use.
