The Hydro has recently experienced a refurb and the results are exceptional. The period feel has returned and no detail has been overlooked. Staff are well trained, polite yet invisible. The view and location shows the remarkable Megalong valley to best advantage. High end dining in the Wintergarden restaurant was modern and creative, with many subtle flavours.

The scenery is wonderful from the hotel, restaurant, lobby and dining area. It's a marvelous sight. But the room is very small, bathroom is tiny, no space for placing small baggages such as handbags, toiletries, shoes etc. and sadly some of the hotel staff had an unfriendly attitude...

After reading all of the negative reviews, I was in two minds about my booking, but I needn't have been. As someone who was very familiar with the hotel in it's previous incarnation (cafeteria-style dining area, and not much love), I am so impressed with the transformation. A stunning nod to the decor of the past! The tea room, cat's...

Its an absolutely beautiful hotel. Art deco isn't my style but its such a tribute to that era. The weather was exceptional giving great views to Megalong Valley. The hotel was clean and our room was perfect. Had dinner in the restaurant. I don't understand why you cant just order a main meal, why should I pay $75 for a...

Visited the hotel over the Easter break. What a joke this place is! The room was TEENY TINY, the decor hasn't been updated since 1960 (honestly the walls were all chipped, ceiling light had dust all over it), the tiny window that allowed any light or view into the room was locked shut so there was NO natural air in...

We stopped here to see what it was like so that we could stay in the future. The Pavilion serves coffee so bad that I would rather if stopped at a 7/11 petrol station to get one. If that wasn't bad enough I asked where the quiches were made and was told the kitchen next door. Having tried it, it...

We had read the mixed reviews on this site about the Hydro Majestic but were determined to give it a go to see the grand restoration of Art Deco lavishness. Many of the complaints relate to the proximity of the road and railway to the hotel and also some of the small rooms which reflect the original building. We chose...

The Train leaves 18 Minutes past the hour & takes a little over 2 Hours . From Medlow Bath Station Just walk across the road into this...

Without a doubt the Hydro Majestic Hotel holds a special place in many peoples hearts and memories. It has been restored to perfection and exudes charm everywhere you turn. (i've stayed here before and the rooms are small and not at all grand, but this review is about the High Tea not the accommodation) A group of is decided to...

What type of traveller are you? Do you book a hotel room or do you experience a location? It's important to know the answer to this question if you choose to stay at the Hydro Majestic. You will read a lot about small rooms in reviews, the smallest rooms are 16m2, enough to walk around the bed! . These are...
