The hotel, totally renovated in 2012, is settled in a unique environment, between a lovely pine forest in the middle of the town, very close to Ronda's landmarks and the famous Tajo de Ronda. Around the hotel, which has 95 fully equipped rooms, there's an amazing 3,000sqm garden in which our guests can enjoy our swimming pool and our terrace. Hotel Ciudad H-MA-00042

Check in was smooth, reception staff helpful and provided good advice on local areas. We paid extra to have a room with terrace overlooking the gorge, the only downside was the trees blocking the view, that said I would say a terrace and gorge view is definitely worth paying extra for. There can be no debate that the view from the infinity pool is spectacular and you couldn't ask for better. There is also an outside jacuzzi with great views..These alone are reasons to stay in this hotel, along with its location for walking to to the monuments, new bridge and historic town. In terms of the hotel itself, I would say that style definitely rules over substance. It's the basics that make a difference; the rooms are small, the shower area oddly designed with the toilet in a glass cubicle, no bidet (very unusual in Spain). The water is not always hot in the shower and the basin takes significant time to empty even without the plug. There is a small minibar fridge and plenty of different glasses within the room. The pool towels are stored in your room and therefore you end up with wet towels overnight as you take them out with you in the morning before your room is made up and don't return them till evening. Admittedly a head out the door with the towels in your hand and showing the cleaner suffices to get them changed but a service by the pool or reception would be much better. We stayed 5 days and only had clean bath & face towels in the bathroom once. Despite putting them on the floor the dirty towels were rehung which I don't appreciate as you don't even know whose towel is whose. The linen on the beds including pillowcases was not changed at all however we did keep extending our stay so the cleaners may not have been aware. Breakfast was certainly good and would recommend this, lots of choices muesli, cereal, cheeses, houmous, fruit, tomato, lettuce, good selection pastries and breads, with some hot food varying daily e.g waffles/pancakes but the basics i.e eggs, bacon always there. Staff in the mornings cheerful, polite and helpful.
My advice would be not to eat dinner in the hotel even though the terrace is beautiful with stunning views. The waitress staff appears rude possibly as not enough of them, limited courtesy and interaction. At first I thought it was just us but speaking to other guests, this was the overall impression. On entry you are greeted with tables full of dirty glasses, clearly not enough staff to return them until the end of service but it doesn't create a good first impression. Cocktails took 50 minutes and 3 requests to arrive, no response when asking about them or apology, admittedly wine was much quicker. Food was average, not good for vegetarians we ate better in town for less money and had a far better experience.
However, all of that being said, would I stay again? Yes, for the views, the pool and the location. Some really simple tweaks would make this an amazing hotel.

We stayed here for 5 nights using Ronda as a base to explore the various Pueblos Blancos within a few hours drive. The hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the stunning Ronda valley and distant mountains.
We stayed in a Junior Suite that has a good size terrace furnished with loungers, bistro size table and chairs. This would have been perfect to admire the view if the weather were better during our stay. Nevertheless, it was a nice setup.
The room size is good, good bed, sufficient storage for 2 adults, good shower and nice size separate bathtub. The bathroom is good size for two to move around. The room was a bit dark due to the heavy blackout drapery, and that it covered up 2 other view windows. But it offers a solid cocoon-like environment to nap after a busy day of adventure.
The house keeping is excellent- both daily and evening turn down service.
We spend quite a bit of time at the bar and outside space during late afternoon having drinks and tapas. It was a nice setting with stunning views. The staff were excellent , hardworking, expedient without being intrusive of our time hanging out in that space. This is what a resort should be.
We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family should they visit this part of the World. Definitely one of the top on my list of view properties.

The hotel is perfectly located, in a privileged enclave that only calls for relaxation. A 10-minute walk from the center. The room is perfectly new and modern, there is tranquility and rest is assured. The staff is very friendly and willing. I have one drawback to my stay and it is the pet policy. They allow pets (for 25 euros per night) but your pet can only be in the room. I am not one of those who has to go with their dog everywhere but I do spend the late at the pool and I leave her alone in the room, I can't take her down to have a drink on one of the terraces, they tell me it's because of the rest of the guests but aren't there more dogs on the streets, terraces and other environments that Do they live civilly with the rest of the population? If the hotel allows pets, the rest of the tenants will know and we will be able to live together. If my dog bothers me, I will get my attention like when a tenant bothers me, but they don't even give me the opportunity to leave. pets on the open terrace. Check-out is at 12 and at that time you have to go home, you cannot leave it anywhere and enjoy the pool a little more, even though you have paid more than the tenants without dog. There is late check out but it never seems to be available. Next door there is a very comfortable park area to take your dog out. I can't leave an opinion about the restaurant and the terraces since I haven't been down there.

Our stay at Catalonia Reina Victoria was perfect from start to finish! Parking was very convenient on the hotel premises (a day rate applied). As soon as we walked into the hotel, we were stunned by the view from the lobby. The check-in staff on duty was very pleasant, efficient and helpful - he helped us arrange a taxi to and from a nearby small town for our dinner plans. I told the hotel in advance that we were celebrating my partner's birthday and they made sure our stay was super enjoyable also leaving complimentary cava and truffles in the room which was a lovely surprise! The room was perfectly set-up and the bed was massive and comfortable! Bathroom had a separate shower and bath-tub unit and was spacious. The view from the hotel room was nothing short of spectacular. Spa was small but reservations were required which meant that it was never over-crowded. The hot tub was lovely and view was of course fantastic. The hotel is also very conveniently located - short walk to the city centre and the bridge. Overall, this was one of the best hotel stays we have had - would visit again and would definitely recommend!

It was a birthday gift for my husband that we both enjoyed: room at the Hotel Reina Victoria in Ronda, spa, full massage and dinner at the restaurant. Perhaps the best money I have ever spent on a gift. As soon as we arrived, the reception staff treated us with incredible kindness and gave us a room superior to the one we reserved. At 5pm we spent an hour at the spa with tea tasting, a small spa where there were only 4 people, and at 6pm a massage for the two of us. The spa employees couldn't be more friendly or attentive. At 8:30 p.m. we had dinner at the Azahar restaurant, in the hotel garden, with views of the mountains and the sunset. Iván served us with great care and made excellent recommendations, both for food, wine and dessert. The homemade cheesecake is highly recommended, one of the best we have tried. Neither the service nor the quality of the cuisine is what you expect from a hotel restaurant. Everything is of a high standard, including the location. And all this in Ronda, where just walking through those landscapes is already a pleasure. Highly recommended, both to get to know the city and for a relaxing getaway.

Fantastic views, lovely public areas and pool. The bedroom is very comfortable but the configuration of the room is peculiar. Didn't like having the hand basin in the same area that you prepare your tea/coffee and not having a completely separate bathroom would put me off from returning. The terrace at sunset was absolutely stunning, the food and drinks we had were very good as was the service.

An attractive, pleasantly old-fashioned and friendly hotel beautifully situated close to the centre of town (a few minutes walk to the bullring). It has extensive gardens (unlike the nearby parador) and easy parking, though this costs an extra 15 euros a day, something I was unaware of when making my reservation. Parking in Ronda is a nightmare, so even at 15 euros this is good value. Breakfasts are great - no need for lunch - and dinner was fine, with great service, even if the food wasn’t particularly memorable and was quite expensive. Definitely a hotel to recommend, and a superior place to stay than the parador (where I have stayed before).

My group spent five nights here and really enjoyed our stay. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Plaza de Toros bullfighting ring and the city centre. The breakfast buffet is fabulous with so much variety. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel also offers a laundry service (8 euros to have a shirt washed).
The hotel is heavily used by bicyclists and motorcyclists, but they were not noisy,
Two small negatives: It is pretty difficult to figure out how to turn on the shower. And, four members of my group were scolded by the staff for bringing their own bottle of wine and snacks onto the outdoor terrace.

We booked a double room with request a for a bath but on arrival on arrival they did not have one available but very kindly up graded us to a junior suite with one which normally was more than twice the rate. We had only intended staying one night but liked the hotel so much we decided to stay another night. They staff were most welcoming and helpful. The whole experience was lovely

The hotel is perfectly situated just 10 minute walk into town and the famous bridge. There is a gym but my partner and I actually took a morning run down to the viewpoint which I’d recommend before it gets busy! The hotel has the most incredible views from the terrace and pool which you can sit and enjoy until sunset, both the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. We had a terrace suite with view, they close the curtains so you can enjoy big reveal as you open them! Our room was clean and spacious and all of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but a special mention to Alvaro who couldn’t do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He was very responsive prior to our arrival with any queries I had and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was just perfect for our stay. If staying in Ronda I can’t recommend this hotel enough.
