Chena Hot Springs resort has many facets, and I'd rate all of them differently!
The hot springs experience is a 5. Chena has a large outdoor hot springs pool created to look entirely natural. (It's hard to photograph due to all the steam rising from...More
The hotel was very clean and lovely. The hotel staff was very nice. We were only disappointed that we did not see the lights. We were told the full moon was too bright drowning out the lights. I don't know if that's true or not...More
I did not stay overnight at the resort but came to check out the hot springs. The resort is very isolated and tucked away. I was there on the Fourth of July (and it was a pretty hot day) but by the time we got...More

We rented a car in Anchorage for the two weeks we were in Alaska. There are tours that will take you to Chena Hot Springs, however a car gives you the flexibility to stop and enjoy and photograph the beautiful scenery and wildlife as you want. The grounds at the Hot Springs are beautiful. The ice sculpture igloo is a must see, also the sled dog kennel. Time did not permit us a horseback ride through the area. It was a fun Alaska adventure.
