This hotel never disappoints. Wonderful beachfront location that also includes a great pool with swim up bar. The staff are warm and friendly and everyone has a welcoming vibe. Within walking distance to restaurants, CVS, etc.
This was my 5th time in Puerto Rico and my 4th stay at this hotel It has definitely lost some of it’s luster. The guest rooms/balconies and bathrooms are in bad need of some updating—tub/shower combos are not used much anymore-- The lobby is open and has plenty of seating, but the front desk staff could try to be a bit friendlier. They barely look at you when you are checking in. When we arrived (four women), I was given 2 complimentary drink coupons When I asked for 2 more, I was told that is what each room is allowed. He begrudgingly handed over 2 more cards We were charged $10 for an additional umbrella on the beach (same reason as above) Come on Marriott—nickel and diming for these ‘amenities’ is disconcerting to say the least. The hotel charges a fee for each additional person beyond 2 in each room Meals are served in cardboard containers with plastic utensils. Please follow the science—you are not contracting Coronavirus from food preparation or food served on real plates. I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria (and not cafeteria prices $$) Some stand out employees should be recognized: Ivelisse (Restaurant and Pool)—friendly, quick and great service Alejandro (Restaurant) (newer employee), so adorable and sweet. He simply could not have been better. Rochelle (Banana/coffee bar)—made us the best coffees each day of our stay. Lovely! The beds were comfortable and the pool area was clean and neat. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas around the pool. The pool bar was netted off so no real interaction with the pool bartender, except when we were told we were not allowed a Mojito with our drink coupon--and I quote "Look at the card--it tell you what you can have" (again, please Marriott, read the room and don’t be so stingy) This will probably be my last stay at this hotel There are so many other options in the area to choose from Guests appreciate the little things that set you aside from other properties. The Courtyard Marriott La Isla Verde is not what it used to be, and that is very sad.…
I booked a stay at this hotel for my elderly mother who missed her flight and had to overnight in PR! Upon arrival to the hotel her card declined because the bank blocked it for safety issues. At midnight, the manager on duty Samuel and the front desk guy Evan offered no assistance to my elderly mother! When I tried to speak to him over the phone he tells me “next time tell your mother to walk with a valid credit card”! My mother left the airport at midnight with nowhere to sleep because representatives at this hotel made NO effort for a tourist! He refused to take my card information over the phone and when I asked if I can send the information via email with an ID they said NO! Horrible customer service for travelers!!!! BEWARE!
I’m so disappointed in the people that have written negative reviews about this place. It was a wonderful get away. We found everyone to be friendly and extremely helpful. The valets would take my phone and enter info for Uber. Or if we took a taxi they walked us over and told the driver where to take us. Eveliesse and Antonio at the outside bar were friendly and constantly checked in on us. The hostesses at Tropical Cafe and the wait staff took great care of us. We never had an issue w beach towels however we sometimes recycled and took towels with us to the room and then came back down with them later. Yes it is a beach resort - be prepared to see men without shirts on and women in thongs. Occasionally we smelled weed - no different than at home in a grocery store or at a mall. We went to the Pueblo Supermarket - it was drizzling. We took an Uber but you can walk it in under a mile. We got snacks and alcohol. And I can’t forget to mention Covid- this place is safer than anywhere in the States. Everyone wore masks. They sprayed down carts at the grocery store -before you took it. Hand sanitizer everywhere. We won a little bit in the casino. Yes it is small - but I have seen smaller. We had an amazing time and absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back. Thank you Courtyard by Marriott Isla verde for making us feel so welcome. ❤️…
We had a great experience at the Courtyard Marriott Isla Verde. The room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the ocean. Housekeeping tended to the room daily and provided two water bottles. Great place for those traveling with family. The bar was a great place to hang out and play your own game of dominoes or cards. Bananas had a limited menu but their cafe con leche was delish. The pool, pool bar and staff were all great. Beach chairs and umbrellas provided on the beach were great as well. Covid measures were reasonable. They checked temperatures daily and expected masks be worn at all times. Hand sanitizer and wipes provided in the lobby. We highly recommend this place, enjoyed being right on the beach and location.
