My husband had to work in PR so the kids & I decided to tag along. We stayed here for 5 nights. We had a great experience. They have a huge pool, jacuzzi & splash pad which was GREAT for our kids! It's open from 7am-10pm and was never really busy. There is also plenty of seating plus a gazebo area. Due to COVID,they weren't able to clean our room each day which was understandable. We were asked several times if we needed more towels, TP, pillows, blankets, etc. several times during the stay and if we did need something it would be at our room within minutes. A light went out in the room and maintenence was there within 10 minutes. Also, tgey are following Covid precautions by checking temps from ppl entering & we have to submit our negative Covid test at check in! Hand sanitizer is offered EVERYWHERE in the building! The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from several restaurants & the beach! We had a gorgeous view from our room! There is plenty of parking and its located down the road from the airport. We did not eat at the restaurant but we had plenty of pina colodas! They were delicious and the staff was wonderful & friendly! I've read other reviews and I want say that you cannot compare this hotel to those resorts. If you're expecting 5 star room decor & renovations then you should pay the big $$$$ to go stay at one of those resorts. This is a budget friendly hotel! Cons: the water doesn't stay warm for very long and there isn't a lot of water pressure but I've been told that's normal for PR. Also, there were guests smoking either in the hallway or their room(s). We could smell it in the middle of the night and the next morning but not sure where it was coming from. All in all, we had a great time! All of the staff from front desk to the restaurant to maintenance were friendly & great! We would stay again!

I am a travel writer and reviewer that travels with two sons with severe autism (seasoned travellers-50 states and 21 countries so far!) We spent a delightful week in Puerto Rico at two outstanding hotels, both which I will give a fair, and well-deserved review to. Having an early flight we chose this one near the San Juan international airport. HUGE mistake. It is a rat trap dressed up as a fine establishment. We arrived and we could not even get in the front door with our cases, as an employee was oblivious to blocking it, loudly yapping on his cell phone. It took four "excuse me"s to get him to move, much less HOLD the door open. So much for service.....We approached a woman at the first desk and she rudely said "over there". Okay....next desk, staff moved at a snail's pace, unable to answer any questions about the property, such as when the pool closed. I had requested a first floor room due to my sons' disability, I was promised it and an upgrade.....NOPE. In fact I was put on the top floor. The room was filthy. A stain on the bed quilt, and on the rug. When I called the front desk no one picked up for hours. I gave up. I went to give my son a bath. The water spigot came off in my hand. So did the tissue holder. And the water would not turn off. I had to use a nail file. No one answered the call for help. I get the feeling no one would care if their workplace flooded. Still no answer at maintenance or front desk at 7 o'clock at night. Think perhaps the staff was all gathered smoking crack. Ordered to go food from the restaurant. The waitress was beyond rude. Only redeeming quality? The talented, friendly bartender who also appeared to be doing everyone else's job as he had to keep leaving the bar to assist customers all over the lobby. He needs a raise. The internet is horrible! Keeps disconnecting, slow and keeps asking if you have covid symptoms over and over in a pop up window. Ended up using my cell phone as a hot spot. Now 10 pm and my sons asleep. Me? Awake, because the walls are so thin I can hear a couple having animated sex on one wall, and another couple arguing on the other. Learn from our experience and stay the hell away from this dump of lost soul employees! Very awful, very creatively awful, like they are trying to punk us on reality show, on purpose. Only this is real. Unfortunately for the guests. WORST STAY EVER.

I haven't stayed here yet. I called to get details about the hotel and the Jose' was very rude. So I will NOT DEFININTELY BOOK AT THIS HOTEL! If he is rude now, I can only imagine how he or others will be in person.

We landed in Puerto Rico without a reservation for the night. We called 5 hotels before Jose Crespo the pleasant guest services representative answered. From the start of our conversation we knew we were going to be ok. We made the reservation over the phone while still being at the airport. We ubered to the location which was nowhere from the airport. We met Jose and he was the BEST! His friendliness was just what we needed! He represents the Verdanz Hotel in such a great way! We will recommend this hotel to our friends back in North Carolina! Thanks Jose you were the best!

I was there to celebrate my wife birthday. No hot water on the bathroom. Could not control the AC unit and it was very noisy. We couldn't sleep well. Room was super dirty and needs some remodeling. No housekeeping service on the room. Refrigerator didn't work. Besides that, the food in the restaurant 80 Twenty was good and the service provided by the waiters was excellent. The amenities are good.
