Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon. All I can say is what an incredible and special place - we are only sad we didn’t have longer!
From the moment we arrived, the staff ensured that every detail was meticulously looked after. The hotel itself is beautiful and the thoughtful design is unlike any other hotel we have stayed in Flores and Indonesia. We stayed in both the sea view room and as a surprise my husband also booked the hill side room - both were truly exceptional. They had not only incredible views but an authentic design with all the modern essentials for comfort.
The surrounding views are truly breathtaking and the sunset was just incredible. Location is also unbeatable in terms of proximity to all of the islands in Komodo. In hindsight I wish we had stayed at Menjaga for longer and gone on day trips to the surrounding islands from there rather than booking a sleeping boat for two nights!
The staff led by Bryce really went above and beyond to make our stay incredibly comfortable and memorable. Exceptionally friendly, polite and thoughtful. Thank you for an amazing stay.

An amazing resort set within a unique part of the world.
The hotel is set within a quiet bay on the edge of the stunning Komodo National park. We were able to take advantage and head out and explore the surrounding island, bays and reefs that are pristine! The team are very informative and organised some great day excursions for us!
The rooms are extremely quiet and beautifully designed and it was amazing to be able to watch the sun set over the water from our private cabin.
All of the staff were attentive and able to help us with anything we needed, however small, even picking us up some suncream from Labo Banjo when we ran out!
On our last night we were treated to a private dinner with the chef discussing the custom menu with us the day before so that he could source some really fresh fish from the market. It was another brilliant meal and the perfect way to end a very special few days.
Would HIGHLY recommend!

Menjaga Bay is the place for a luxurious and secluded tropical paradise. We came for our honeymoon and had such a relaxing experience.
Pick up was smooth and we went on a 20 mins speedboat to the hotel, which I highly suggest. We were welcomed at the jetty with friendly staff and a welcome drink.
The sea view bungalow was amazing, great views to wake up to, very clean, spacious and no bugs. We were happily surprised by the flowers and ‘happy honeymoon’ on our bed on our arrival - very much appreciated.
The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and the food was tasty and presented very well.
During our stay, we hired paddle boards, swam in the very clean pool, enjoyed the board games and pool table at the restaurant.
We had gotten dropped off into town one afternoon, and it was difficult to get any local drivers willing to drive us back to the hotel. We called Pak Willy at the hotel reception and he kindly organised someone to pick us up. Can’t thank him enough. We suggest organising a drop off and pick up time with the hotel before you go into town.
Thank you again to all the amazing staff for creating a wonderful experience for our 2-night stay.

If you’re looking for a private piece of paradise - this is your place! We had the most wonderful stay at Menjaga Bay. Everything was perfect, including gourmet food (with real croissants and proper coffee for breakfast), beautiful rooms and staff that were always going out of their way to help. The location is quiet and secluded, but close to some amazing snorkelling spots and Komodo tours. You can go paddle boarding or kayaking right from your room and see turtles and clown fish!
Don’t hesitate to book here before it sells out!

We had the amazing opportunity to discover this wonderful resort during our visit on Flores island last week.
Although the hotel was in their « soft opening phase « , everything was perfect. The entirety of the staff was there for us, to meet all of our needs and make sure our trip remained memorable, special thank to Astrid.
The road accessing the premises was a little perilous but contributed to the « adventurous nature » side and the goal to tranquility.
The rooms were very spacious and confortable. They all had a beautiful terrace ( on stilts for us) where the sunset made them justice.
The restaurant offers amazing dishes and the welcoming atmosphere was warm, friendly but remained discreet and professional ( thanks budi and your colleagues).
The hotel does not have beach but the swimming pool facility was incredible. We were able to go for excursions everyday to visit villages, waterfalls, islands …. We would like to give credit and thank Taufik for everything he made us discover.
The diving and snorkeling sites and experiences were highly over our expectations and extremely beautiful.
As you may understand, we highly recommend to stay a few days in this dreamy hotel…
Thanks to all of the staff.

We spent 12 unforgettable days at the Menjaga Bay where comfort merges into nature. Stunning set up, perfect service and dreamy sunsets…
Excellent restaurant serving local fish and traditional Indonesian dishes and desserts. Healthy and exquisite. (Great job removing the use of plastic from any daily aspect).
We will miss the meticulously cut fruit for breakfast and the cold coconuts served by the splendid swimming pool (always warm) while looking at the monkeys walking by.
Great location for snorkeling! We enjoyed very much our daily adventures by kayak (provided by the hotel) discovering great sports to see the corals, stunning fish - especially the baby shark at kelor island- and the turtles in Manjarite Beach.
Last but not least, we will miss the formidable team of the Menjaga. We will miss your genuine and gorgeous smiles, Valeria, Astrid, Budi and all the rest of the team. You made our honeymoon unforgettable!

Quiet Resort just a 10-minute drive from Labuan bajo airport to the port, plus a 20-minute speedboat ride. Cottages on the sea and mountain sides and we stayed in floating Cottages. There is no TV but everything you need is there.
What I liked:
・The sunset is so beautiful!
・It is interesting to have wild animals such as monkeys and goats
・The food is generally delicious. The menu changes every day.
· Nearby snorkeling spots with coral reefs and tropical fish
・Staff friendly
Improvements:
· It is better to check the time of the shuttle boat carefully. Someone was going to miss the flight.
・The shower sometimes drained poorly, and I was surprised because the overflowed water was flowing into the sea
· Showers are located semi-outdoors, so nervous people may be careful
I wanted to see Komodo dragons, so I went on a private tour we offer, and I got it right! With one ranger for every two of us, we were able to see 10 Komodo dragons at our own pace.
There's nothing around the Resort, so it's not for people who like a lively atmosphere, but I think it's a great Resort to spend time with. I want to visit again.

Menjaga Bay feels like a piece of the Maldives hidden away in Indonesia. Waking up in one of the sea suites with a gorgeous view of Komodo National Park and taking 2 steps out of bed to jump in the water is not something we’ll forget anytime soon. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure you have an amazing time, from cleaning your room without you even noticing to giving you some cookies and cold water on your pillow in the evening. The menu was different every day and the staff was more than happy to arrange vegetarian options for us!
The resort is 30 minutes from Labuan Bajo, but still remote enough to make you feel like you’re in an undiscovered paradise.
Would definitely want to stay here again (and again) ❤️

What a wonderful new resort. They are currently still in their „soft opening phase“ as some last services are still being completed. However, this didn‘t take away from the experience at all as the amazing staff made every wish come true.
The view from the room on the water is just gorgeous, the sunsets are so beautiful, and let‘s not even talk about the stars. JUST WOW!
The architecture in the resort and rooms is marvelous, mixing modern touches with local customs, like the genius open air bathrooms for example.
The services all around are great, loved the massages, drinks at the bar on the sea, dive trip organized by the staff and all the other small details.
We are very excited to see how this resort develops from the amazing stage it is already at. Definitely need to come back sometime soon.
A huge thank you to Bryce, Astrid, Buddi and all the other amazing staff.

If you are visiting Komodo, this place is a must. Completely private and so peaceful. A perfect getaway from all the noise of Labuan Bajo. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Felt like a queen in my comfortable white robe and private villa. The local staff were so pleasant and kind, the food was truly top quality & seeing wild monkeys all around was a treat. I will be booking this place again there is no other place quite like it! Thank you to the staff & management for such a wonderful stay!
