What a magical place. The staff could not have been more welcoming. They saw to our ever need. It was impeccable clean. After a long day on safari, being greeted with warm towels followed by warm showers was exactly what was needed. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Pumzika is a lovely camp, very beatiful and special, with all we need to spend a great holidays time, the rooms are very spaceous and confortable, the shower is a unique experience, the restaurant service and food are great, we have all kind of drinks, even more that in some 5* hotels. The time and space by the fire are unforgetable. But what make this camp so much special are the people, the wonderful staff there, we won´t forget Israel, Christina, Amos, Tekla (angelé smile), and all those names I can not spell (sorry), but I keep you all in my memory! You made our holidays so special and we felt loved by you, our welcome songs, our dance moments, our hugs, your smiles and our last family photo! Thank you all for being so kind and pure, we love you!

When my wife and I first arrived here for our 2 night stay, we slightly balked at the lack of charging facilities and the bucket powered showers. However, it did not take us long to realize how special and fantastic this place is.

The service is the best I've ever had and absolutely everyone involved went out of their way to make sure we had a special experience. It was magical seeing the stars out at night and waking up in the morning to the sound of lions and hyenas walking nearby.

The food was spectacular, the laundry service was great and much needed by that point, and the wonderful tent made our initial trepidation a complete non issue. I can't recommend this place highly enough, it was our favorite place to stay on our entire Africa trip.

I am afraid this is not a positive experience. We stayed there for 2 nights and I honestly think there are other options out there. The camp is basic. No charger in the room. Only 2 little desk lamps in the room meaning you can’t see anything 1 meters away from your bed. It was inconvenient if you had to find stuff in the suitcase. The camp situated on a little hill. You can hear the sounds of the wind and animals so I didn’t sleep well even with my earplug. Bucket shower is outdoor at the back of your tent. When wind blows by, if was freezing.

The food is the worst out of the 4 camps that we have been. Everything was very salty even the hot water for making tea is salty. The dessert was a bite of banana with a small bowl of custard.

I know you can’t ask for too much in a remote National Park but we paid over $400 usd for a night during peak season and this should not be the standard. We paid $30 USD more pppn for another camp in Serengeti and it was much better. I felt I was overcharged for this camp.

During one night, a hyena tried to dig up the pipe leading to the toilet. Doing so, it leaned on the piece of furniture supporting our washing basins and mirrors and made it fall. We heard a noise, and woke up with that piece of furniture lying on the floor and lots of broken glass (see pictures). We used the emergency whistle to call for someone to help us clean the broken glass and put the furniture back in place. We blew it for a good 15 minutes but nobody came. According to our guide, nobody came because everybody was asleep: this camp does not have massai guards who stay up at night to look out for animals, something most other camps have. If that is true, then this camp is an unsafe place for travellers: had a buffalo or an elephant been around the camp instead of a hyena, nobody would have seen it and taken the necessary action because everybody was asleep.

While I must say that food was delicious and service was great, I would recommend travellers against this camp, as it does not take travellers safety seriously, and safety is much more important than food and service.

Dear guest, thank you for taking your time to write the review, all comments help us improve. We are sorry you had a bad experience, it must have been bad as you set a Tripadvisor account just for this matter. We are really sorry your bathroom furniture fell and scared you, we have looked into the situation and experts concluded that it couldn’t have been a hyena, as there are no scratch marks at all on the tent. It was a very windy night and it is likely that the water basin and mirror collapsed because of the wind. As you know, we are a totally mobile sustainable camp and we have no foundation under our canvas tents, it is our way to respect the environment. Our security staff was certainly awake, not the guides or camp staff. As I said, it was a very windy night and they did not hear the whistle, as you have seen, our tents are set up far from each other for our guests privacy. We take note of your comments, we appreciate your concern for security, we take it very seriously, and we have taken measures so it will not happen again.

We arrived at the camp after a long day trip from Kenya to Serengeti. The team there received us like home, the tents were incredibly well decorated with all services you can imagine. Incredible views, amazing tents, comfortable beds and also fantastic cheff, food was more than enough and excellent! A very good option to stay!

Daniel and the staff were friendly and professional from the time we arrived until the time we left. They anticipated our needs and everything ran on time from the 6am bucket showers to the meal times.
Our first morning as we were preparing for our shower we heard grunting outside of our tent. Walking out into the open top shower area there was a large bull elephant grazing less than 100 meters away silhouetted by the rising sun. Wow.
At breakfast another elephant walked right beside (3-4 meters away) the dining tent as we watched and took many pics and videos.

The sunsets were beautiful and the staff were great.

Power is solar and limited. Make sure you plug in your devices to charge in the dining tent as soon as you return at the end of the day since there is no power available in the morning until sun comes up.

Terrific staff, extremely comfortable and weather-tight tents, great food and an overall wonderful wilderness experience! Relaxing common area with a fire bowl during the evenings. Animals wander all around us at night, but the staff and lodgings left us feeling safe and cozy. Great, inexpensive laundry service was really appreciated.
Outstanding experience.

We stayed 2 nights at Pumzika‘s. And what can I say. We LOVED it! It‘s pure glamping. Waking up to an awesome sunrise in the middle if serengeti, enjoying good food and great hospitality. Everything you need is right there! It‘s just perfect romance!
Daniel and Jackson made our stay very special. Thank you guys! I think we were definitely „most welcome“!

My friend and I stayed at the Pumzika Luxury Camp for two nights during our safari. It was incredible. We both loved the place, including the wonderful staff. The staff were clearly concerned about providing quality service and making it a great experience for us.

I loved staying in a tented camp and the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere made it even cooler. It’s a unique experience I would happily repeat. Since it was the slow seaso, it was only my friend and I in one tent and another tent of people, so the place was nice and quiet except t night when you hear the lions roar, hyenas howl, water buffalo and the occasional jackal. That was of course the best part of the whole stay!!!

The food was excellent.

The only downside which I wasn’t aware of was the lack of electrical outlets in the room to use a blow dryer. I assumed because there was electricity in the tent I would have outlets however, that was not the case. But, that is apparently common in all tented camps run on solar power and not a deal breaker. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

In summary, this is a great place and if you’re looking for a unique place to stay with great food and service look no further. I’m not sure what the difference is between the regular Pumzika camp and Pumzika Luxury Camp. The staff wasn’t able to tell me either.
