Stayed in the Stormy Petrel and WOW. Views of Hanson Bay as far as the eye can see from every room, the soft sound of waves crashing on rocks and the beach, at night you can see Magellanic cloud (stars) everywhere! Never seen anything so amazing in my life. Room is modern, comfortable and well set out. A big thank...

We enjoyed a few days in these new, well appointed, clean, modern and naturally warm cabins. Hanson Bay itself is extremely rugged and exposed to the wild southern ocean. It was rough. There is a nice swimming beach within easy walking distance and a really rough beach that you would not dare swim in. There are no restaurants or the...

Hanson Bay Cabins are in a remote location of the island, next door to Southern Ocean Lodge, but at a fraction of the price, you need to stock up with God supplies in town, but it's worth it, beautiful beach down the track, plenty of wildlife, close to the remarkables, admiral arch, and unforgettable views from your cabin, a truly...

4 for the location and views, not so much the cabins. One of the best bays in Australia and it is such a joy to wake up and see such a view. Almost primitive and untouched, if you like the environment in its natural state, this is it. If you want luxury (at a price), there are options nearby but...

Thank you for your review and yes it is one of the best bays in Australia. We do have 2 styles of cabins at Hanson Bay; our beloved log cabins and our new modern cabins. This way we can offer more to our guests. We are constantly upgrading the log cabins as we can, so keep an eye on us...

Both my husband and I agree that this must be the best place that we stayed in during our KI trip. We stayed in one of the older cabins and were initially rather apprehensive about their condition, as pointed out by some reviewers. However, our fears were unfounded. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well-furnished. Yes, the kitchen was a...

To wake up each morning and look out over beautiful Hanson Bay was an absolute treat. In spite of the freezing water we couldn't help but go in for a quick dip every day. The cliff walk to the rear of the cabins was also very lovely. Access to Flinders Chase National Park is good from this location. However, the cabin...

Thankyou for visiting we are sincerely sorry about the potato peeler and grater. FYI the cabins can be booked by large groups and sometimes things go walkabout and end up in another cabin and sometimes these items don't get spotted before the next guest arrives. We are sorry for that. We try hard to keep things straight but In the unlikely...

Hanson Bay is gorgeous and the cabins provide a beautiful view overlooking the bay. The cabins have a nice grill and free laundry use. I also loved the Hanson Bay hiking trail right by the cabin! It is an 18km hike and very pretty; lots of interaction with kangaroos. I loved supporting the wildlife conservatory and the nocturnal walk was...

We really enjoyed the quiet and solitude especially as there was only one other cabin occupied during our stay. Everything you need even a washing machine and a BBQ but perhaps the older cabins are ready for a makeover. We still enjoyed the stay with little touches like the fire being ready to light on arrival just adding that bit...

We stayed in the older cabins which at $170 p.n was a lot for you got! The double bed was tired and hard. the kitchen equipment needs updating as does most of the interior. There was a blackout on our arrival and there was only one torch and three tea light candles...luckily for us the power resumed just before total...

Thanks for visiting. In July 2015 we have installed queen beds and done renovations both internal and external. I am confident that you will have better experience next time you visit. Also we recommend that you try the new cabins opened at Easter 2015

We have stayed at Hanson bay cabins with friends almost every April for the last 10 years. Love the solitude and amazing views. Cabins are basic and starting to get very jaded but comfortable enough. Don't rely on phone reception as this is very patchy to non existent. We always stay with friends taking up all four cabins and eat...
