We arrived at the The Firs Farmhouse for a one night stay for a friends wedding in nearby Framlingham. Nestled in the Suffolk countryside was Jean and John's rural retreat! What a lovely place to stay - charming rooms, full of character and spotlessly clean. Fantastic breakfast to prepare us for our long journey back to Cheshire! Excellent value, would... More

I can not recommend the Firs highly enough. John and Jean make you feel so welcome and are such great hosts. I love the house and both the Georgian and Tudor guest rooms are plush and filled with lovely antiques. Most of all, Mavis and Tallulah, the wonderful Anglo-Nubian goats, are adorable! The setting is idyllic with a moat, ducks,... More

I highly recommend a stay at Jean & John's beautiful home. Lovely people, a warm welcome and perfect facilities, in a beautiful location. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.......just a shame it was only one night. The room was beautiful with lovely little touches that made it the perfect place to stay.

We had a one night stay at The Firs and received a warm and friendly, but not overbearing greeting from the owners John and Jean - we knew immediately that our choice had been an excellent one. The farmhouse was stunning and our room, The Tudor Room, was amazing with the incredible four poster bed taking centre stage. The adjoining... More

From the initial greeting from Jean and John to the time we reluctantly left, our stay at the Firs was simply outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, the room was excellent, everything we could have expected was included, in fact more than could be reasonably expected such as dressing gowns, biscuits, binoculars etc etc. It was better than any top... We stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at John and Jean's restored 16th Century farmhouse. We chose the Tudor room, which had a splendid four-poster bed, plus plenty of storage space, a TV, a fridge and a (non-working) fireplace. There was a medium-sized bathroom along the corridor with a standalone shower, a bath... More

From the moment I set eyes on this farmhouse I knew I was going to love my stay, and I was right. John and Jean are a lovely friendly couple. Jeans homemade cake is divine. I highly recommend this rural idyll.

From the moment we booked, John and Jean were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. As we were coming up from London for a wedding, they even helped us to find a local cab firm to take us to the wedding venue and a recommended a pub that was still serving food late on the Friday night. We booked all three... More

If you are looking for the beauty and tranquility of the English countryside, The Firs is an excellent choice. The Firs is an old farmhouse with parts dating back to Tudor times, brought up to date very carefully by the present owners, Jean and John, who are very welcoming. Expect low beams, low doors and steep staircases - that's how... More
