This was a very good hotel. Simple, very quiet, extremely clean. We stayed four nights and would return again. The restaurant was very good and the pizza at a nearby cafe was terrific. Edwardo (the manager) goes out of his way to be helpful.

This was an unexpected gem of a place. Having just spent a day and a night at the Feria in Seville, we were in need of somewhere to chill, and this is definitely it. The staff were lovely - welcoming, helpful and relaxed. We spent 2 nights here at the beginning of May 2017.

We arrived too late to look around at other restaurants and just booked a table at the hotel to eat and went for a walk to the beach, about 13 minutes away. Very long sandy beach with some good waves, but not too windy. The Cape Trafalgar lighthouse is at the southern end of the beach.

Dinner surpassed all our expectations for a restaurant in a small seaside town (Zahora). We had Chicken fingers in a Romesco sauce and Pear and Gorgonzola salad for starters. The chicken fingers come in a crisp batter, served in a newspaper cone like chips. Good sized portions too, and piping hot. The Pear and Gorgonzola looked a huge starter, but was very light and delicious.

For main courses, we had Suckling Pig (in the shape of an) Ingot and Tuna Steak with Thai-style veg, soy and sesame. The tuna was seared and red in the middle, perfect for me. My wife really enjoyed the tender pork, caramelised onion, quince paste and crackling. The wines were pretty good too, not expensive at all and the waiter happy to make recommendations.

I found the service just right - no hovering waiters trying to top up your glass at every opportununity. Helpful and knowledgeable, and indulgent of my hesitant attempts at Spanish.

The rooms are light and airy and everything just seems to work as you would expect. Only complaint was the lack of a hairdryer. The showers are particularly good, with massage jets and a large rainforest shower head. Spotlessly clean.

The following night we also dined in - this time Sierra de Grazalema goat's cheese salad for me and Falafels for my wife. Both were yummy, and again, huge portions. Could easily have been shared between us, had we known. The burger made from local beef was not available, so I went for Steak Frites rib-eye steak. My wife had Canelloni. Steak came back a little on the rare side of the requested medium, but it was quickly put right and tasted succulent. Only two chips is a little on the mean side though.

Breakfast was an adventure, there being no menu and our Spanish not that great. Nice enough though, and not too expensive.

Checkout was easy and without problems, and talking to the guy who checked us out, we again got the impression that this is really a very chilled-out place to stay.

Would happily go back there another time and would recommend to others wholeheartedly.

Celebrated my friend Birthday here and thoroughly enjoyed our evening although the menu can be a little confusing. The service was good and as it was the end of the season not to many dinners. There was a sufficient wine list to be able to enjoy some good wines with our meal. We each selected a first course and then all shared which turned out to be a very good idea. I would imagine in the summer that this place will be very busy and should consider booking.

Been there at the end of season.
- staff is very friendly
- we had a moderate room. Would not stay there for a longer time, but for 2,3 nights it is very OK.
- There are awful many dogs around, so at night you need to have a good sleep or keep the windows closed (which in our case was not possible because the room had about 30 degrees....)
- parking lot behind a save gate

We booked Hotel Arohaz on reading other Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed at all!

We were looking for somewhere along the Costa De La Luz that would be peaceful and somewhere to relax, and having read about Zahora we found Hotel Arohaz. From the moment of booking to arrival, through the stay and on leaving the service was excellent. Alberto is who I have been in touch with by email and he has been so kind and offers great customer service, and what is also great is that this attention to caring extends throughout his team.

We had room 6, which was beautifully decorated - very calm colour scheme, super comfy bed, there was a fridge provided, TV and an en-suite bathroom that looked as though it had come directly out of a showroom!

Our rate included a simple "Desayuno Anadaluz" which was freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea (with refills at no extra charge) and "pan deal pueblo" which is a locally baked rich bread, toasted and served for you to drizzle with extra virgin olive oil (also locally produced) and then spread with fresh blended tomatoes - such a fresh and delicious and filling way to start the day. There are other breakfast options available from their menu if you wish.

The hotel has just 6 bedrooms, which gives it such a lovely peaceful family-run feel, and as well as having a terrace area at the front, there is a pool and covered verandah at the rear. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach, and I have to say one of the nicest beaches I have been to - ok not super fine sand, but sheltered with dunes behind and a completely under-developed. There are a couple of bars/restaurants next to the beach, one of which only opens during the "season" (June-Sept I believe, but check in case that changes) and the other has tables along the path so that you can sit there with a glass of something and watch the sun go down and feel your cares simply drift away in the sea breeze.

So would I stay at Hotel Arohaz again? Without doubt absolutely yes! The cool calm chilled ambiance of the hotel is the perfect reflection of the cool calm chilled ambiance of Zahora. To Alberto and his team, I congratulate you on a great job well done!

To be brutally honest, we booked this place by accident. We'd intended to go to Zahara and I hadn't realised that this hotel was actually in Zahora until the day before we left for Spain! But everything worked out better than we could have hoped for. Zahora is a sleepy place and predominantly seems to consist of campsites and restaurants for Spanish tourists who are coming for the beach which is about 10-15 minutes walk away. As long as you have a car, there is loads to do nearby. Vejer is an amazing place and only 5 miles up the road. Barbate seems to be a dump but has the most amazing Fish restaurant that I've ever visited and gets foodies travelling from all over Spain. Zahara is just a little further down the Coast and well worth a day. Tarifa and Cadiz are about 60 mins drive away.

Hotel Arohaz is a very relaxed and quiet place. The pool is a nice place to spend a quiet afternoon. The food was good - menu del dia definitely the highlight - but not quite as good as we'd been expecting from reviews on this site. The rooms are clean, comfortable, well-appointed. Secure parking. Very friendly staff. And very reasonably priced. We would go back if we visited the area again.

Just left Hotel Arohaz today and pleased to say it met our expectations.

Only 6 rooms (3 face the garden & 3 overlook the little road). We were allocated a room on the roadside, however we asked to stay on the garden side and they switched us with no fuss. Both rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious.

In the room there are some toiletries and complimentary water, plus an empty fridge which was handy for chilling drinks.

The back garden was very well maintained. The astroturf lawn was great and the sun loungers very comfy (could do with more than four between everyone). The pool was a decent size bearing in mind it us only a small hotel.

All the staff we met were very courteous and friendly.

We ate at the hotel ine evening and were impressed.

Breakfast is very basic, but gets you started.

We went down to Sanjarami Beach each evening for sun downers and loved it. There are two bars on the beachfront overlooking the long sandy beach. We thought it was great being the only English speaking people amongst all the locals.

I really recommend this place and Zahora in general for a chilled out 2 or 3 night stay.

This hotel and restaurant is situated in the tiny village of Zahora in the Cadiz province in Andalusia. We had friends and family staying here during our wedding week (or 2 as it turned out) and all the feedback has been fantastic. We used the restaurant as a meeting point for our guests and consumed many fabulous breakfasts, lunches and dinners. I can honestly say I have experienced some of the best food ever here and can't recommend it enough. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating and the prices were very reasonable for such a high standard. Cocktails and coffee in the pool gardens are a must. Enjoy!

Lovely, clean and spacious rooms, nice bar with wide selection of gins and tonic and the restaurant is outstanding comparing it is a small hotel. Worth to stay for a long weekend. I could mention that warm water has run out for the morning but i am pretty sure that owners will solve this little problem shortly as they really know what they are doing and the hotel just opened last year. Absolutely RECOMMENDED!
