We popped in after a dog walk for a quick lunch and were blown away at how friendly everyone was. The food was great too! It's been 20 years since I was last at the Chequers and I had good memories of my visit's back then and it's good to know it's still as good as ever.

We spent a week recently in Thompson recently and visited the Chequers on two occasions, never being disappointed. This Olde World Pub serves food of the highest standard, beautifully cooked and presented and at a reasonable price. Staff are wonderful, always with a smile and very helpful. Portions are large and filling and the puddings are to die for especially...

The food at The Chequers was delicious, freshly cooked and hot. Sadly, the poor service let it down and I would think twice about returning. It was midweek, the restaurant wasn't busy and we were told that we would wait around 20 minutes but they would bring us some bread. We waited 45 minutes and the bread didn't materialise, however...

Went for a meal with family and our young children. Childrens menu was very good and very reasonable price. All food was freshly cooked even though there wasn't an extensive choice there was still a good selection with plenty of specials. Our food came quite quickly and had huge portions!! Some of us couldn't actually finish our plates! Food quality...

We stopped off here a few months back with our puppy after one of our pub walks. The young chap (Adam) in charge had seen us arrive and park the car (the pub hadn't opened at that time) and anticipating that we might want some lunch later, had set a dog friendly table up for us - amazing. We went...
