We stayed three nights on this property. It's remote and that makes it a great way to disconnect from usual life. You cannot possibly avoid multiple animal sightings ( "oh there go the spider monkeys overhead again. Here comes another pair of macaws flying by...More
Our sibling vacation (3 sibs, 3 spouses) had a fabulous visit here for three nights, end of March, and end of rainy season. It was hot, but the forest and ocean breezes ameliorate that, and the insect population is reduced, too. It was humid, too,...More
We spent 6 incredible nights at Bosque del Cabo with our 3 children. We stayed in El Pizote for our accommodation and we did not want to leave! We woke up to howler monkeys every day and within the first hour there we saw 3/4...More
First impression was of spacious, sunlit grounds and intriguing and impressive wood and thatched architecture. We had a standard room which was large, airy and comfortable, a large balcony/deck with views of the forest and sea, and a palm which was visited daily by coatis...More
I struggled with this review, given that 94% of fellow reviewers have scored this property excellent.
In many ways it is, but there were a handful of shortfalls and areas where there could have been better execution or better price value.

I've never been in late July but have been there in mid August (twice). It rains, but generally not in the morning and generally only for 1/2 hour to an hour at a time during daylight hours. Bottom line -- I've been to CR like 5 times in the green season (twice specifically to Bosque) and it's never been an issue.
Check CDC, but this particular area is surprisingly low on biting bugs. We were just there with a 5 and 6 year old and didn't have any worries.
Finally -- make sure to stay at one of the non-cliff edge cabin as/villas. Just ask them which options those are. I wouldn't do the garden rooms with a 4 yo, tho -- going across the suspension bridge in the dark with a 4 yo would be tricky.
If you like to hike and, with the 4 Yo, don't mind pool time and staying around the open area u(lots of animals come by throughout the day), min 2 night, 3-4 ideal.
