I don't usually write reviews but this is one I definitely want to do. I have been putting it off for two weeks as I really wanted to be thorough and have the time to express what an amazing place Bosque is, unfortunately I think...More
This was our 3rd. stay at Bosque. The property is well-maintained, the staff is courteous and helpful. Plenty of trails on property to choose from. Hike to the Pacific and play in the tidal pools. Go down to the Gulf to watch the surfers (we...More
What a wonderful place. Piece of paradise on earth. Thanks to Fill and Kim for their exceptional conservation work and for the wonderful place they have created and running, so we can experience the beautiful and pristine rainforest.
Unique accommodations, great food, great service, lots of activities , trails, great guides, lots of rainforest animals and insects, pool, waterfalls, pristine beaches, tide pools…. and above all a true rainforest experience! One of the few places left in the country were you can experience...More
We stayed here in April 2014. I had looked forward to our stay because of everything I'd heard about the great wildlife here...and I was not disappointed. The biodiversity in this area is truly stunning. On the immaculately groomed hiking trails we saw howler monkeys,...More

No, and I LOVE a cool room and keep our bedroom ceiling fan on high. My husband says it's like sleeping under a JumboJet. I was hot, it is very humid, but still actually slept well Having been there several times before, I knew what to expect. The houses have ceiling fans. The cabinas have teeny fans at the very head of the bed. Moves air,but not much. I would go even if I knew I couldn't sleep. I love BdC that much. Go and enjoy!,

I've never been in late July but have been there in mid August (twice). It rains, but generally not in the morning and generally only for 1/2 hour to an hour at a time during daylight hours. Bottom line -- I've been to CR like 5 times in the green season (twice specifically to Bosque) and it's never been an issue.
Check CDC, but this particular area is surprisingly low on biting bugs. We were just there with a 5 and 6 year old and didn't have any worries.
Finally -- make sure to stay at one of the non-cliff edge cabin as/villas. Just ask them which options those are. I wouldn't do the garden rooms with a 4 yo, tho -- going across the suspension bridge in the dark with a 4 yo would be tricky.
If you like to hike and, with the 4 Yo, don't mind pool time and staying around the open area u(lots of animals come by throughout the day), min 2 night, 3-4 ideal.
