We decided to make the adventurous trek across the border from Los Angeles and wanted to experience Mexico's wine country in Valle De Guadalupe. While researching where to stay I made sure to not only look at ratings but also read the reviews. I was first stunned at the beautiful architecture at Contemplacion but then became sold after reading the wonderful reviews. I have to say the reviews were all correct. The resort is absolutely stunning and the room is a dream come true. You have sprawling views of the valley from your bed, the staff is very hospitable, the rooms are well kept and have all the essentials and there is a wonderful restaurant on the grounds which has live music on the weekends and a delicious breakfast. The location is situated in the heart of the valley with several top rated wineries and restaurants within a 10-15 min drive. I highly recommend staying here and would absolutely visit again.

Some hotels look great in the photos, but Contrmplacion is better than the photos.

When we arrived at sunset to our room, we were immediately taken aback by the gorgeous views and surrounding landscape. The hotel is situated on a hill, so all of the rooms have unobstructed views of the valley.

My fiancé and I thought the rooms were cozy, thoughtfully designed, and nice to encourage sustainable use of the water and towels.

Although we wish we had dinner, we were very impressed by the Mexican breakfast options (and even the pancakes) included with our stay.

The mezcalita was a hit all weekend long and despite my hangover on Sunday from all the wine tasting, I’m wishing I could sip on another now.

I’d love to come again with a few more friends or family members and let them enjoy the hotel as well.

So me and my wife live in San Diego and our friends always mention the wine rout in Baja, so after a little bit of researching we found this beautiful boutique Hotel. The manager Anthony was there when we checked in and helped us with many recommendations on what to do around the area. The room we stayed at was beautiful, we had an amazing view of the mountains, i loved how they did not have TV's but put a projector in the room and we basically had a 70'' screen in our room. the restaurant was fabulous. Overall we had an amazing time here being in mexico for the 1st time. we will definitely be coming back. if you decide to stay here ask for Anthony he will gladly help you with what ever you may need.

I am very unhappy with this hotel, and would not return for a future visit. The cabin was overpriced and the food mediocre and expensive as well. I was charged $347 USD for a one night stay, and $49 USD for breakfast that was supposed to be included for free! I contacted the hotel and they blew me off. I also asked Booking.com to see if they could work with the hotel to refund the breakfast, and they said the hotel refused as well. I feel this was poor customer service and advise anyone who wants to stay here to clarify the pricing before paying. I stayed in cabin 5 and it was charged as a Superior Cabin, but it clearly was not. There was no terrace or balcony, as described in the hotel web-site. Gardeners and visitors would walk by and there was no privacy. No chairs to sit, just a bench at the end of the bed. The bathroom was sparse and not at all like the photos in the web-site. Beware of this hotel. There are plenty of other lodgings in the beautiful Valle de Guadalupe to stay with transparent and fair pricing and excellent customer service. You will not find it at Hotel Contemplacion.

I stayed at the Contemplacion for a weekend with my boyfriend and his brother. The accommodations were just perfect for 3 people. Two bedrooms allowed for privacy yet we could congregate in the kitchen and living room. Simple but chic decor made for a comfortable stay. Very clean and modern too. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. You can also order off the breakfast menu to supplement your meal but it really isn’t necessary as you are given a sizable portion with the complimentary option. The gardens are lovely as well as the patio and outdoor fire pit that was outside our bungalow. We will recommend Contemplacion to our friends and will definitely return.

Good friends of ours have been asking us to visit Guadalupe Valley for over 2 years. We haven’t driven down to Mexico for two decades due to some stories we’d heard, but felt safer to do so now. The drive down from San Diego was absolutely beautiful along the coast line and into the valley. I had found Contemplacion Hotel on line and booked rooms for both couples. It actually exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the privacy of the individual rooms. Also liked that they didn’t have TVs. Great to get away from that and just take in the beautiful views. It’s a calm, peaceful and very relaxing setting. The staff was helpful, kind and super friendly. Rooms were very clean and I loved the great smelling products they suppled. It was great having your own frig and microwave. Also- they had a coffee maker that would grind the beans that they supplied. Great fun drinking coffee in the morning, while looking out at the valley and watching the sweet dogs running around outside chasing rabbits and each other. The food in this area is exceptional Try Primativo, Deckmans and Laja. We will definitely return to the Valley and book at this hotel again. Two thumbs up!

We are pretty lucky to stay at great hotels around the world but this has been a truly spectacular experience. They did everything right from customer service, housekeeping and generally checking in on us to make sure our needs were met.
If you don’t stay here when in Valle you will have missed a great opportunity.

Waking up to this view, seriously stay here!

We had such an amazing time at Contemplación. From beginning to end the service was impeccable- we were in constant communication with the hotel via WhatsApp, and the staff members at the restaurant and bar were always so attentive and helpful. We had the best view of the estate from our room (see attached photo) - it feels very private and very modern. We will 100% come back — highly recommended for a couples retreat or friend trip! Thank you all for the wonderful time.

Food/drink tips: have the chilaquiles and pancakes for breakfast, get a bottle of the Rogante red wine to enjoy by the fire pit, and drive to Tacqueria la Principal in Guadalupe for carne asada tacos!

During these Covid times it is hard to find a place to getaway that you feel safe and away from large crowds. We wanted to get away and we decided to try this place. First off, you have your own cabin. Modern and beautiful throughout. It has its own patio as well. They have a beautiful restaurant and bar as well. Since there are only 12 cabins you don't come into close contact with anyone and the hotel is following all safety protocols as well. On Saturday night they had a live band and we went for dinner and stayed 4 hours. Its all outdoors. Since its not a crowned place they do not rush you. You can have dinner and then sit and enjoy wine or a cocktail and listen to music all night if you like. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to getaway and are hesitant because of Covid. You will feel safe!

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Contemplacion during a weekend trip to Valle de Guadalupe in late February. All in all, we had a really wonderful stay. The rooms (and the views) are as lovely as advertised, the complimentary breakfast was delicious (highly recommend the veggie omelet, even if you're not a vegetarian), and the staff at both the hotel and the restaurant were all very kind and courteous (thank you to Cecilia and everyone else who took such good care of us). We can't wait for our next trip back down to the Valle!
