My husband and I spent 2 nights there and loved it. The location was perfect as we had a car, the value for money excellent. The owner, Teresa, was extremely helpful and always available. We loved breakfast in the huge dining room.

An old church/castle that has been beautifully restructured as a home with some guest rooms. Just about 15 minutes away from Coimbra it is in a good position with very helpful and dedicated hosts. Teresa is a great host and passionate about the property and its history. Unfortunately there are some shortcomings to this as your standard room has no...

It is a wonderfully restored medieval castle. The owner Teresa is very passionate and will go out of her way to make sure you are happy. The breakfast is a amazing and so are the views. Beautiful courtyard.

This is a beautiful restored castle with unique architectural features and lots to do. Breakfast spread is good and eggs are made to order. The owner is enthusiastic and has great suggestions about places to visit in the area. The shower is not a fixed head, it is a flexible headset with no wall mount. Felt like staying in a...

Paço da Ega is a unique experence: a mediaval castle in the hills near Coimbra. It has been beautifully restored. The rooms are filled with fine furniture. Not all periodic, but well fitting in this environment. We had a beautiful room on the courtyard (as all rooms). We played pool in one of the giant common rooms upstairs. Breakfast was...

Nestled on a hill in Ega, near Coimbra, this B&B is built with walls laid down by the Knights of Templar in the 12th century. It has been beautifully restored by Teresa and her family. There are several large rooms available for common use; each restored and decorated faithfully; one as a dining hall, one as a Billiard Room and...

Beautifully restort refuge-fort/castel located in a small village. Warm welcome and useful information material available to discover the region. Simple but nice room with even nicer bathroom. The rooms could be improved with a bit more lightning. Bountiful breakfast served on the immense dining room. There is also a pool, which however we did not use due to the chilly...

Damp, and not totally finished this place seems a lot more put together and cool than it really is. The hostess was not very helpful and the setting was not pretty at all. The manor was neat but not very comfortable and the breakfast was terrible. Don't go here.

This was an amazing stay. We were welcomed by the owner and given a tour of the castle as well as it's history as a knight's Templar fortress. It is meticulously restored, down to the hand made leaded glass windows and furnishings. The Roman ruins of Conimbriga are nearby, which is why we chose this location. Breakfast was delightful in...
