We stayed in Fennel Folly for a couple of nights over New Year. The accommodation was ok, the hosts were friendly but my wife and I were rather underwhelmed, given the stunnig reviews from so many other people. What we experienced was nothing special, it was a rather ordinary self catering apartment.

Weekend venue for a walking weekend with a group of (very) old friends, two of the five of us stayed in Lettuce Lodge which was lovely.. The hosts Sally & Colin ably assisted by their stunt double Mary, were very hospitable and hilarious in equal measure! Never have I laughed so much during Breakfast! Location is perfect and walking in...

A group of us stayed over the weekend. I was in the main house and had a wonderful double room looking out over a field of sheep. Colin and Sally(ably assisted by Mary) are wonderful hosts of this top rate B&B and looked after us splendidly. Breakfast was first rate and the location was spot on for our walking weekend....

Go! Stay with Sally and Colin. Their hospitality is second to none - we couldn't have felt more welcome. We were delighted with our cottage - it was cosy and homely - just what we needed for a relaxing trip to beautiful Rutland. Sally's breakfast was delicious - you won't go hungry. Ideally located really close to Rutland Water and...

We were in Fennel Folly, which is on the first floor, up a few easy steps. All windows were velux ceiling but despite no 'view' as such from them Fennel Folly was light and airy. It had large double glass doors so we could see outside to the fields with rabbits munching the grass and from the little balcony level...

We stayed late September for 2 nights, with our dog, found it to be relaxing, enjoyable, and with walks right on the door step for our collie to enjoy. The bed was the most comfortable we have had at a B&B and a good choice of breakfasts, which we could have at a time to suit us. The owner was away but we...

We wanted somewhere quiet and within easy reach of the nature reserve. It couldn't have been better. the house was spacious, clean, well maintained and with the sun still warm enough to sit outside we took advantage of the private patio area.

We booked in for two nights in order to attend a wedding nearby. The room was large and although not inexpensive, seemed to be worth the price. Disappointingly, the bed creaked noisily with every movement and was as hard as a board. Oddly, breakfast on the first day had to be taken at 09.00, or not at all. Worse still,...

Dear Mr Wix, I am genuinely upset to read your review.......and am disappointed that in our absence you did not receive the usual high standard of service. Being flexible to our guests' needs is very important to us, as you will know from our previous reviews. You are the first person to make a negative comment about the beds......but having...
