Detailed Reviews
We stayed on a busy bank holiday weekend and all the staff were super friendly and helpful from beginning to end, room service was quick and at no extra charge. We had our dog Cooper with us and the room we had in the annex was perfect for him the room was clean and well maintained with free tea coffee water and toiletries. The view over the corn field was perfect for watching the sunset windows were big making the room bright and airy and the smart tv allowed us to log into Netflix too. The food in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced we ate in the restaurant 2 out of 3 nights we were there and even though it was busy the service was excellent again would highly recommend and we will stay again when we are next in the area.

First stay .booked a triple room for us and my mum when I got there found out it was a double and bunk beds. My mum is 82 couldn't really put her in bunk beds .talked to the manager he was brilliant he opened up a adjoining room and gave it to us complimentary. Considering it was my fault for not checking on the bed situation and just presuming it was a double and a single . The hotel manager couldn't have been more helpful what lovely customer service. The place was spotless and the bed mega comfy. Would highly recommend .

+1
Stayed due to a Business meeting and was met on arrival by the owner, very respectful to other customers and also to the staff as they directed us to our meeting room.
I stayed for the evening and was more than pleased with my room, very modern and comfortable, outside it was minus 3 degrees, my room didn’t show any signs of what was happening outside, underfloor heating was just the ticket! The shower was great, needed before we met for the evening meal in the restaurant, choices were fantastic and when the staff were asked on recommendations, they sure knew what they were saying. I only managed a starter and a main, I loved it.
The food served during the rest breaks were very good, I’d actually recommend this to anyone who wanted to hold training, business development or conference meetings. 5* plus recommendations from me across the board.

The Crown lodge has been offering a take away and delivery service since lockdown. We have often eaten there in the past, but this time ordered 2 Scampi and chips with peas and tartar sauce. Order delivered bang on time and couldn’t fault it. Will use this service again as they have a great choice three course menu. PS no delivery charges either. Well done

I stayed here for one night with my collie prior to a flyballing competition she hadn’t stayed in a hotel before and I asked for a quiet room incase she played up!!. She didn’t settle well and barked a few times when she heard someone walk past the door, I stopped her each time and settled again at 10.30 reception called and said they had complaints about the barking, she is a dog and will bark but it wasn’t excessive and only 10.30 at night not in the middle of the night. I didn’t know weather to leave or not and she settled. But my point is if dogs are
Allowed to stay there will be barking at some point and if you are not prepared for it don’t stay here. You can’t advertised yourself as dog friendly and then call my room at 10.30. The food and staff are lovely very welcoming but I wouldn’t stay again just because someone complains don’t make me feel bad, I could hear their tv which was louder than my dog and the endless chattering but it’s a hotel not in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours
My collie won her little league competion!!! And is very well behaved

I went for a meal with my family a few weeks ago and this was the first time that we had been out to a restaurant since lockdown. I can’t praise the crown Lodge enough for all of their efforts during lockdown (takeaways) and now that the restaurant is able to re-open. Myself and my family felt extremely safe during our meal and I don't think the hotel could do anything else to improve this. Their Covid measures are well in place and work extremely well.
The food we had was absolutely delicious and piping hot, I couldn't fault one thing regarding our meals. They have taken several tables out but I actually think it made it a more enjoyable experience as some times due to the large tables it can look a bit sterile, however with the new arrangements the restaurant was full and considering the circumstances there was a nice atmosphere.
Well done The Crown Lodge.

We stayed at the Crown Lodge Hotel for one night. The large room was spotless. The bed massive and a decent size bathroom. One particular plus was that the shower controls were away from the shower so one didn't get soaked turning it on.
Very quiet as well.

We stayed overnight in a lovely peaceful room with great facilities and extras such as speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The room was tastefully decorated with TV and everything you could need for overnight or longer. We enjoyed a really good meal on the evening of our stay and the staff were all very welcoming and polite.
We would recommend and will return if in the area again.

What an amazing place, friendly , accommodating, excellent food and service.
We were looking for a room prior to the start of the holiday, that had a ground floor room for our very old dog. What a great find on the internet, al the rooms are ground floor and dog friendly.
The staff here are absolutely helpful in every way you can imagine, the work e exceptionally hard but remain totally attentive and professional.
The rooms are brand new, spotless and very comfortable.
Dining here is perfect, one of the best steaks we have eaten in a very long time. Breakfast freshly cooked to order and so delicious with locally sourced produce.
We would definitely come back here and recommend it to any travellers, plenty of parking and delightful walks in the village.
Thanks for making our stay so memorable, only thing you couldn’t help with was the weather.

It looks lovely BUT lots of equipment didn't work, both bedside lights, the shower water control, (burning shower), the sink plug. The shower screen fell apart when moved and you took your life in your hands just getting into the bath for a shower as it was VERY slippery. Very noisy fan in bathroom and doors shutting very loud in the night. It is a nice enough place but not maintained very well. The chain hotels in France are much better than this and much cheaper. I rarely stay in UK hotels now I know why. Overpriced.
