The hotel didn't come upto my expectations. Reception staff lacks mannerism & doesn't know how to treat guests & is mostly non-cooperative. They would neither take nor deliver messages & won't take ur complaints seriously. I had to go to my room through stairs at 4th floor because the elevator was out of serveice. I stayed in a single room...

This is a surprisingly good hotel. There is nothing "flash" about it ... just an ordinary lobby etc ... but the rooms are quite big (I was upgraded to a double room), and they are very clean and extremely quiet. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were really helpful. Overall, I think this hotel provides very good value...

When I chose this hotel on Orbitz I saw it was within walking distance of the Prague Train Station, but I found out it was a long walk, on busy streets, all uphill. I was tired by the time I finally found the lobby. The room was large, but I had to climb one flight of stairs to reach it,...

The hotel is steps away from the National Museum, meaning it's got an excellent location and is near a central transit station. The rooms were clean and spacious while breakfast was a nice layout of dishes, and complimentary. The space, quality, and decor of the rooms were about what I expected for a 4-star hotel in city center, although the...

Having travelled many times to Prague, my hotel of choice is the Downtown Hotel. It is conveniently located close to Wenceslas Square and offers clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is a good assortment of baked goods, cereals, yogurts and fruits. Everyone in my group thoroughly enjoyed the hotel.

we stayed our first few nights of a month long trip here in Prague. It was so perfectly located, near the subway, near the train station and easy to walk all around town. We did Old Jewish town, the Charles Bridge, castle, all over just walking. The people were great, helpful and spoke great English. Breakfast each a.m. was also...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
