I visited Amsterdam, Prague and Budapest in succession this August and the Hostel Downtown in Prague was hands down, without a doubt my favorite! Whether you're a low key individual who's just visiting Prague to see the sites or whether you're there to meet new people and DRINK SOME BEER (I was somewhere in between) (okay, I was mostly just...

Prague is easily the most beautiful city i've ever been to. When i got there i was injured, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Not only did they provide me with anti-swelling first aid (where no other hostel i had been to prior, had offered such care), but they were also extremely helpful in pointing out the places to go...

I first stayed here in 2014 and loved the environment that the staff created. I just returned from my second stay with them and had an even better experience than the first time! They keep improving. The hostel is clean, the staff is friendly, they are in a great location in Prague 1, and you are never bored. They always...

I'm currently travelling Europe for a month and as a lone female traveller this hostel was perfect. Upon arrival the reception staff were really friendly and informative. Immediately I was invited to a "wine tasting and tapas night" at the hostel for a small cost of which I was able to meet many other travellers. I stayed for four nights...

Absolutely hands down the best hostel we stayed in across 6-7 through Europe (and we picked pretty fortunately). I recommend it to anyone travelling through Prague. Great staff. The Beer Tour and the Wine Tasting nights, were great! Our guide was welcoming, and did brilliantly to take us to a lot of local spots. Little hostel get togethers which started...

Everything was resonably clean except the bathrooms as such. There was a nice lounge to chill out. However it had a drab dark wierd vibe, i did get that vibe with most of prague. They do alot of night activities pub crawls partying ect. Not my stuff but if your into that its great. However with the increasing quality of...

Best Hostel I´ve been to on my trip through Eastern Europe. Clean, super friendly staff and great offers to spend the evenings and nights and to meet other people (such as beer and wine tastings or a pasta night). Breakfast was optional (for about 4€) and very good. Also, it is located right in the centre of Prage but still...

A very good bet for budget accommodation in Prague! This hostel and in an excellent location. It is easy walking distance from the major tourist attractions in the old city and within easy access of public transportation. A varied, daily breakfast is available at the hostel for a reasonable price. I didn't participate in any of the tours or social...

Thanks to Violeta for receiving us every morning with a smile and for such delicious pancakes <3. Thanks to Gil, caralho!! Crazy guy, that was really funny...

My stay lasted longer than expected because I fell in love with not only Prague but this hostel and people! Tour with Mirek was great because there was such a small group he gave us our own personal tour getting to eat apples in a park with peacocks walking around was a highlight. The dinner on Sunday with Brent made...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
