I have stayed at the Augustine Hotel many fimes over the last years and have seen it change from Rocco Forte to independently managed to finally the Luxury Collection and it was always great.Of Course now, due to my Platinum Status with Starwood, I have experienced wonderful upgrades to signature suites, but even the "normal rooms" are marvellous. Recently I...

We actually booked the Grand Mark Prague for our stay in Prague. They had electricity problems on our arrival so they offered that we stay for our first night at the Augustine instead. At our arrival we were treated as if we were their guests (and not just shipped off there from another hotel). The hotel has an old monastery...

The property, the rooms, the common areas are all beautiful and tastefully decorated. It did feel like I was staying in a Restoration Hardware - muted, modern colors, clean lines, both warm yet cold. Hardwood floors in the room, great windows and my room afforded a view of the castle...if I hung out of it and looked left. I got...

From check in to the room this hotel surpassed my expectations. Having come from the W in AMS prior, where the service was sub par to say the least, this was a welcome surprise. It was the best culmination to our trip. The bar is fabulous, the spa spectacular and the rooms beyond! Highly highly recommend.

Built in an old monastery. The inside has been redone but some old touches remain. The door to our bathroom was the original iron door from the monastery. Every touch is luxurious. The bathroom floor was heated as were the towels. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate. The service was impeccable at every level. Centrally located less than 5...

Was staying in another hotel which was more central but visited the bar which is open to the public. The beer is brewed by local micro brewery and was previously brewed by the monastery formerly on the site. lovely surroundings, nice building and great staff. The beer is wonderful. The whole experience is excellent and whilst I will continue to...

A spectacular staff compliments everything else that is incredible about this hotel. This 14th century former monastery has been beautifully renovated with class and style while still maintaining the soul of the property. I absolute loved my room on the 4th floor with beautiful beams and a luxurious marble bathroom. Immaculate room and housekeeping outstanding. Location is perfect - close...

This was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The entire hotel was beautifully renovated- the lobby was lit with a lovely fire and smelled of the gingerbread village they had on display. Our room was lovely and big with plenty of space to hang clothes and store bags and a beautiful big bed. The bedroom was cleaned to...

Like the others posting, I can't say enough you good things about the hotel and staff. Based on some confusion during booking, one of our rooms was not quite what we expected. The management of the hotel did a great job of resolving the issue and taking wonderful care of us. We also had a fantastic New Years dinner. Food...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
