Look no further, I would definitely return if back in Prague.
I stayed here for ten days with my two teenagers and we had a wonderful experience. The apartment is both very clean and comfortable. There is a convenient store close by where I would buy croissants for breakfast and many great restaurants in the neighbourhood. The place is literally next to the steps up to the castle and very close to the Charles bridge. Still it is quiet and calm. The Mala Strana district is just lovely and of course next to the old town, so the location is perfect. The host was always available, if not in the reception then just an email away. We went to concerts and the blacklight theatre, and walked everywhere. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

This place was absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!! It is in a great part of Prague where you are close to everything, but it still on a quiet street and out of the way. Every part of our stay was wonderful. The woman working here was very very sweet and helpful. One of the nicer rooms did not get booked for the weekend, so she upgraded us for free! If I ever go back to Prague, I will stay right here. 100%. The place was clean, everything worked, it was an absolutely fantastic place that I can not recommend enough.

This is a beautiful old house in a superb location. Only a few minutes walk from Charles Bridge, a range of places to eat and public transport. We really enjoyed our stay here in one of the apartments. It was spotlessly clean and had a well equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfortable. I would highly recommend.
It wouldn't suit anyone who has mobility issues however as there didn't appear to be a lift.

I was staying for just one night but it was an amazing experience staying in an old building yet clean and well maintained. The funny thing is that I was given 5 keys (!!!) to access my room :)
But the amazing thing was as I open the front door I was at the first step of the famous Zamecke Schody!!!
The room was nice and the manager was giving a great service and very helpful.
One more thing is that just next door I found U krale Brabantskeho, the medieval restaurant!!! I had a great experience in this place

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much.
Very clean, comfortable room. Kitchen is small and has everything you need. After 2 days we got new towels and the trash was taken out.
Location is excellent. Within 10 minutes walk we got to all important sites in the old city. Castle in right outdoor.
5-7 minutes walk from Tramp on a hill so might be difficult for those who have health issues. We got room on the 4th floor. As there is no elevator, its a bit hard after walking all day..

Breakfast is served in the coffee downstairs. Same every morning so you might want to eat somewhere else after few times..
Dean and Daniel from reception were very nice and communication was easy even when reception was closed.
Highly recommended!!

We stayed for 3 nights in the Marian studio which is on the ground floor. Nice size apartment and bathroom, convenient to not have to haul luggage up flights of stairs. The only negative things about our stay were the very flat pillows that felt like there was no pillow when sleeping, and the thermostat is in the hallway and shared with the apartment next door. Luckily we didn't have any temperature battles with whoever was staying next door, but some people may not be so lucky. Location of the apartments is fantastic! In the Mala Strana district ( a.k.a. Lesser Quarter but in no way lesser!), right at the steps to the castle, and a 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There is a Starbucks and many other cafés in the area. Mala Strana, in my opinion, is much more pleasant than the tourist filled Old Town district. One last thing, the airport transfer service offered through the hotel was very convenient and well worth 22 euros. The man who drove us was very nice and gave us a mini tour during our drive. Highly recommend the apartments and airport transfer!

I'm always worried about writing an unabashed effusive review of a place I genuinely love. I think 'what if it becomes so popular that the next time I try to go I can't get a place?'.

I've been to Prague a few times. Once was awful (Hotel Juno), once was 'meh' but Thunovska is genuinely beautiful. Located in the Malastrana area, near the Charles bridge this 1527 building is a real gem. Beautiful apartment with friendly and helpful staff, it's a real pleasure just to look out the window in the morning.

I really can't praise this place enough.

The location is a wondefull base to discover Prague’s beauty. Very clean apartment (studio in our case). Literally at the feet of the staircase which lead to Prague’ Castle and only a 5 min walk to Charles bridge.
Shower, kitchenette, clean towels every day, to go short, it is a wonderful stay to meet Prague and its beautty.
Only one small minus was the lacking of comfortable chairs/coach in our apartment.
We can fully promote this location.

The apartment is located in the old building, but very neat and clean inside. In two steps from the front door the stairs to the Prague Castle begin, and you can see the roofs of the old Prague buildings from your window. It is like a travel to the past but very comfortable. We stayed in 1 bedroom apartment, but for our kids there were cosy beds in the living room. And the rooms were separate! The modern kitchen is very well equipped. Quite friendly staff: we arrived late in the evening, but it was ok ( I've written about it beforehand and the owner was waiting for us). And as we had to check out in the morning and our flight was in the evening, we were kindly permitted to leave our bags at the reception. As a matter of fact you practically don't have to spend your money for transport as all the main sites are 5-10-15 minutes walk. But on the contrary to the Old City (Stare Mesto) this side of the Vltava River (Mala Strana) is much more quiet. (The most important embassies are located in Mala Strana). The owners also offer personal guided tours, we didn't take this time but very likely will take next time. So these apartments are very good either for couples, either for families.

Thanks very much for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed your stay in our Veronika apartment. It's one of our newly reconstructed rooms in our 16th century residence. And, yes, our area of Mala Strana is quiet and full of hidden treasures. I love to point out a few places to guests that often go overlooked. Thanks!

Are any of your apartments wheelchair accessible?
Answer from Residence T
Prague, Czech Republic
Hello, unfortunately our building and apartments are not wheelchair accessible. I really wish this wasn't the case, but our old historical place requires a complete renovation first. My friend uses a wheelchair and chose to stay at Hotel Liberty near Wenceslas Square. He was really satisfied there. Also, the terrain outside was more conducive for him since it's flatter. Our residence is on a steep incline to the castle. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us. All the best, Dean

Hi. We are due to come on the 1st of March. Best/cheapest way to get from the airport to the hotel?
Answer from Residence T
Prague, Czech Republic
Hello, The best/easiest way to get here from the airport is to take a taxi or a transfer that we can arrange for you. Sometimes taxis can overcharge visitors so we like to suggest a reliable local company with English speaking drivers. It's 650 czk, about 25 eur. But, the cheapest way to get here is by public transportation. It's only 32 czk/person (about 1.30 eur). It's relatively straightforward if you don't have large or heavy luggage. First buy a ticket for each passenger in the airport arrivals hall. Then directly outside you can take bus 119. Do not take the AE bus. Put each ticket in the little yellow machine on the bus to stamp the time. You have 90 minutes on this ticket with free transfers between each mode of transport. Take the bus to the last stop Nadrazi Veleslavin. Go down into the metro and take any train that is on your right. Take this to Malostranska. Then go all the way upstairs and exit to your left. Go to the street and take either tram 12, 15, 20, 22 or 23 going to your right. Take this one stop to Malostranske namesti. When you get off the tram, walk up across the square and follow the bordering street, Nerudova. Turn right on the second street Zamecka. At the top of this short street turn left. Residence Thunovska is on the left. The address is Thunovska 19. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. All the best, Dean

Hello, Thanks for choosing to stay with us. For check-in, we just need to know your approximate arrival time. Then we can plan to meet you. It's best to contact us by phone or email, but TripAdvisor doesn't allow me to leave our details here. You can find our website by searching for Residence Thunovska. And there you can find our contact page and other details. Or, there should be a "contact hotel" button within your booking confirmation. Lastly, you can also try to send a message through TripAdvisor, but they sometimes censor some details. Please try and we will confirm once we hear from you. Thanks for your patience, and we look forward to meeting you next month. Kind regards, Dean Perry
