The hotel was nice and the staff too. About the room: it was cozy and clean, on the negative side, all the rooms have carpet and for dust-allergic people (as my boyfriend) this could be a little bit of a problem. About breakfast: it was a normal continental breakfast, even though there was a poor choice of desserts and in general sweet food (I was expecting some typical Czech food). Plus, the last day part of the scrambled eggs was greenish (maybe the eggs were old). Anyhow, the general experience was good and the price was right!
We stayed a week in this hotel. The location is excellent, close to the metro and a short walk away from most of the main Prague attractions. At the same time it is in a position slightly away from nightlife so is a nice quiet street. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They provide information about the area, maps, available tours etc as well as attending to your needs. Breakfast was an excellent selection of both hot and cold. Sausages, bacon, eggs, pancakes, meat, cheese, many different breads and cakes, yoghurt, cereal, tea, coffee, etc. Also served until 10:30 so no need to get up at the crack of dawn. The air-conditioned double room was spacious, immaculate, and had a kettle with selection of teas and coffee. Also a fridge was very useful and was quickly filled with cakes, chocolate, and milk from the local supermarket. Wifi was free and fast. Overall this is just an excellent hotel and I highly recommend it. It was great value for money as well. The only one thing I would make people aware of is the side of the bath is quite high. This makes climbing in and out of the shower probably a little bit trickier for people with mobility issues or for the elderly. I don't know what other rooms or options are available but this is a small thing and certainly not a negative - just something to bear in mind. If I go to Prague again this will definitely be where I stay.…
We stayed for 3 nights and could not have been happier with our experience The hotel is in a great location. Five minutes walk to the Old Town and all public transport links. Check in was straight forward and we were soon in our room. It was a lovely size, with a really comfortable big double bed. It also had a kettle and safe. The bathroom was a really good size too while everything was kept immaculately clean. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choice with lovely fresh omelettes. While quiet busy, there was always plenty of seats. The foyer area and bar were beautifully furnished and service was excellent. I'd really struggle to find fault with anything at the Grand Majestic and next time we are in Prague I will definitely be returning here.
A welcome return after Covid, we couldn’t be happier. It was like it had never happened, everything was just as we expected. Excellent service as always with special mentions to Tomas on reception, Veronica in the restaurant and Roman the lovely helpful concierge. Food and drink exceptional and just wonderful. Oh and an extra mention to the HUGE bed with the comfiest mattress ever.
We recently visited Prague for my wife's birthday. We stayed at the Grand Majestic as it was central and easy to get around for sightseeing. The Hotel is down a quiet side street with a local Czech bar opposite making for an authentic atmosphere. We were not disappointed as this Hotel is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was plenty to eat at breakfast time and the bar did lovely cocktails too. Watch out for Happy hour between 5 and 6pm. A good night's sleep is guaranteed due to the location of the Hotel. We would definately recommend this Hotel and look forward to returning one day.
Everything was great and easy at the Grand Majestic! Fantastic location, kind staff and good rooms. Only complaint is that the chocolate they gave on leaving wasn't the best, but it is the sentiment that counts!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Prague and we very much recommend it. The foyer was beautiful with a nice bar, the staff were always happy & friendly, and the room was lovely & spacious with a thermostat and a fridge. We found that the location of the hotel was perfect as it was well-situated near the old town, and had great bars and plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. The Powder Tower was also extremely close which is an impressive sight. Public transport was very nearby, and many of the main sights (including Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock, and Wenceslas Square) were less than 30 minutes away by foot if walking is more your thing. Plus the hotel is on a quiet road which is easily accessible and ideal for booking an Uber to the airport. Staying here made our visit to Prague easy and enjoyable :)…
This hotel is really nice and a good location..but if you like to go back to your room early an maybe watch some television then don’t bother because there is virtually no English channels but instead English speaking movies all in different languages 🤷🏼♂️
Although the hotel certainly looks ‘grand’ on arrival, it does not live up to its name at breakfast time! The breakfast room can only be likened to a zoo! Overcrowded with tables pushed together, so no space between you and strangers, hot and a breeding ground for germs, with many guests coughing everywhere. One morning a party of guests arrived at 9.30am wearing pyjamas and slippers! One of them even kicked off her slippers under the table and curled her bare feet up onto the chair- glad I wasn’t the next person sitting there after her! Expectedly, staff were busy but were quite abrupt with guests, ushering them quickly to tables and also removing plates from guests before they had finished their food. Breakfast was fine, stocks replenished quickly. However they really need a dress code! Rooms are clean and tidy albeit very warm (even in January l) as air conditioning is poor. I suspect summer in the rooms could get pretty unbearable. Good location. Nice tapas restaurant on same street. Ten minutes walk to old square. Prague is beautiful but bring lots of money as it’s very expensive. Cafe in old square charged £19 for a coffee, hot chocolate and a slice of cake! Realise it was in main square, but nonetheless, overpriced.…
Superb hotel, the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The general areas are modern and maintained to a high standard. The staff are professional and attentive, and multi lingual. The buffet breakfast is complete with English style, fresh fruit, etc, to suit all tastes, superb omelette made to order. Centrally located some ten minutes from the old square, and the fashion quarter.
