Deapite its name Grand Majestic is old decaying hotel with bad service. My ropm was tiny with crumbling furniture. The bath is designed in such a way that every time you take shower water falls on the floor.

Pros: Great location, modern and good service.
Cons: Bar was not well stocked, Breakfast was average
Overall I would recommend it to anyone. The location makes up for any issues in itself!
Just make sure when getting a taxi to the hotel from the airport,...More
We stayed here for six nights. Check in was smooth. The room we got was 309 on the 3rd floor all the way to the back looking out to other rooms. Meaning we didn't face the street and thus it was very quiet.
I was pleasantly surprised and a little underwhelmed at this same time. Hotel decor was OK, but not horrible. Room was a little small. Pleasant staff and great breakfast buffet. I really enjoyed the piano playing during breakfast, nice touch. Location is pretty central to...More
My wife and I selected this hotel online. It is very well located on a quiet street just a few blocks from the main square. We had a clean, nicely furnished room. The breakfast was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable and there were enough electrical...More

Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town
or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

The hotel arranged our airport transfers for us for about 25 euros each way. The taxis are excellent VW Passat estates and the drivers courteous. There is water in the room but you have to pay and it is expensive, Far better to buy it at one of the minimarkets nearby. There is a huge range of food at breakfast and the quality is excellent. The Hop on/ Hop off tours are excellent but I found that the 48 hour pass was a bit extravagant and I think you can see the important stuff with a 24 hour pass. The hotel is extremely quiet and I doubt that the lift will cause you problems. By the way, you should make a point of dining at La Boca restaurant which is about 100 metres away. The food is wonderful and very good value. See my review of the Two brothers Indian restaurant which is a few minutes walk away too.
