The hotel is more likely an apartment. The rooms are very big, but you do not get a normal hotel room, rather at least 3 or 4 beds - both my husband and I and some friends booked a double room and received a random amount of beds :). The shower is interesting, as there is a curtain in the...

The purpur hotel is located at a great location near the center. I like walking and i walked to the center in maximum 20 minutes and loved the surroundings. The hotel room was simple, the shower looked new. It is just a regular hotel, the cleaning lady comes everyday, you can make some coffee or tea, i had a small...

The hotel is conveniently located close to a nodal tram stop, the main modern shopping street and a subway station. The first impression I had, if I had to ve honest, was negative: as soon as I entered in, there was hip hop music playing in the background. Which is, in all honesty, unusual. I was given my keys, asked...

We booked the room through "veneer.com" who mis sold the parking at the hotel, when you are travelling with a vehicle it is important, especially one that is 2m high and wont fit into most city or underground parking! parking has ended up costing us an extra e20 a day, would have preferred to get a more expensive hotel with...

Excellent staff, everyone was very helpful and spoke English which was a huge plus! Decor is modern (everything is IKEA) including the beds. There is no ac, but we had 3 large windows that opened and since it was colder outside this was not an issue for us. Loved the shower with a handheld as well as rain option. Water...

Stayed here for thress nights and found that this hotel is in really good location close to many tourist attractions. The rooms are also clean and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, as some people have pointed out, the walls are no very soundproof and you can here people coming and going. Dont let that put you off though, I...

Rooms nice with modern decor, they have a very small kitchenette with small hob, fridge and sink. Free wifi but it is a little shaky. The hotel is well located in walking distance of Wenceslas Sq. Some rooms do appear to get excessively hot. There isnt that much street noise as far as I could see, bearing in mind it...

Staying at the Purpur was a very pleasant experience. It was a great value compared with the other hotels I looked at (included towels and a nice breakfast). The staff were nice and helpful. The location is in a quiet part of the New Town which we didn't mind. Close to tram stops and even walking distance to the Old...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
