On arrival we were told there was a problem with our room and we had been booked into their sister hotel. This was on the other side of the city, staff stated our room had burst pipes. After a lengthy argument they stated they had managed to find another room at the Charles? If there was an alternative room why...

This charming hotel has beautiful rooms. The most impressive thing about this is the location. Walk right out the door and you can see the famous Charles Bridge, so basically smack in the middle of everything. I loved the Thai Restaurant below its a must try!

I´ve reserved using Agoda´s reviews. I don´t regret anything! Location is perfect in the best place in prague to stay. Although is very close to everything, the hotel is very quiet and reserved. The rooms are renewed recently, being very pleasant. They are large (specialy for European standards)and confortable. Strongly recommended!!!

Location ! 1. Over booking the rooms - we arrived late in the evening and were dispatched off to a "sister" hotel for first night. I was travelling with a very elderly gentleman (with a stick) and so this was a great inconvenience, the return transfer following morning took valuable time from our short break. 2. Not comfortable with the...

We arrived at the hotel by taxi from the train station - were charged 27 Euros. Had we studied the Charles Hotel's recommendation for taxis, we would have known that it should not have been more than Euros 15.00. This is a very nice boutique hotel, located right in the center of Old Town Prague. Our spacious, rustic, nicely decorated...

I've stayed at the Charles 6 times over the past 8 years and it has been consistently great. The location is better than any hotel in Prague, just steps from the Charles Bridge, steps from the tramlines. Big, renovated rooms with nice baths. Staff speaks English as well as other languages. Good breakfast, free internet. You can even park your...

The Charles is in an ideal location, about 1 or 2 minutes to the Charles Bridge. One can walk to Prague Castle or the Old Town from the hotel. This is a small, reasonably priced, boutique hotel. The room are large and nice. The furniture is old fashioned which make you feel as it you are staying in a relative's...

Our stay at the Charles Hotel was a pleasant experience. The room was very large, on the top floor (4th), with a window that opened out overlooking the busy walking-only "road" entering the Charles Bridge. Although it can be very busy and noisy you can always close the window for quiet times. Our room was clean, had adequate air conditioning,...

Great location and very professional and accomodating staff. Umbrellas provided on a rainy day. You can walk to almost everything to see in Prague and there are inexpensive and good restaurants nearby. Highly recommend staying at the Charles.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
