I selected the Cloister Inn because my first hotel choice was booked, and it turned out to be a pretty decent choice! The hotel provides free use of computers/internet in the lobby, as well as free coffee and hot chocolate- as long as the cups don’t leave the lobby area. The staff could have been friendlier and the rooms could...

If you want a friendly, clean, efficient and quiet hotel, convenient for the centre of Prague, look no further. I could use many superlatives, but will make do with saying that every aspect of our stay was highly enjoyable. Friendly staff make a hotel. And here, the manager never seemed to sleep. He was always in evidence ensuring that everything...

Great value and very helpful staff. Close to the center of Prague. Room was good sized, although the placement of twin beds (for travelers not related) was a bit close together. Internet service from the section where we stayed (4th Floor, A wing) was a bit uneven (never got anything higher than a "low" connection rating), but good enough to...

My partner and I stayed at the Cloister Inn for 3 nights in February this year. The location was brilliant, within walking distance of all the major sights and close to two tram stops. It was close to shopping, supermarkets and restaurants, but was still set back from the main streets so it was quiet. The hotel itself was very...

My husband and I stayed at the Cloister Inn between the 16-19 April 2012. The first class service commenced from the moment we landed in Prague Airport and the hotel car was waiting for us (550 czk) each way well worth the money. The driver took charge of the bags and off to the hotel we went. On arrival the...

Stayed 4 nights immediately after Easter. The hotel was perfectly located, in walking distance of all major attractions. The Easter markets were a real bonus. The rooms have very high ceilings and secondary glazing. They were rather warm even with the radiator switched off. Air conditioning appears to be available in the summer but not in the winter. We opened...

After staying at apartments in Berlin and Prague (for about 6 nights) my mother, cousin and I could not find a reservation for such an accommodation on our last night. With that said, I acknowledge my palette is a bit "tainted" to compare the two types of lodging experiences. Nonetheless, I will do so with the most objectivity as I...

The Cloister Inn has everything you need for a few days in Prague. Large and clean rooms with good bathroom. Maybe not so fresh with carpets and the colours, but why stay at the room when visiting a city like Prague? The location is perfect, just a few minutes walking to the heart of the old town and all the...

During our trip to Europe in May '08, we wound up heading to Prague kind of on a whim. We were in Berlin and we figured out that Prague was not as far as we thought. We left Berlin early, stopped over in Dresden for a few hours, then wound up in the evening over in Prague. We got to...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
