This unique boutique hotel in Prague exudes the bohemian spirit of an art gallery. Enjoy the vintage design elegance and style of the 50s, 60s, and 70s inside when you return from admiring the ancient masterpieces of architecture outside. In the LH Vintage Design Hotel Sax you will find original furniture representing the period's cutting edge designers such as Panton, Colani, Saarinen, Eames and others. Our hotel is located directly under Prague Castle. We are close to Charles Bridge, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Strahov Monastery and the Infant Jesus of Prague. Lesser Town (Mala Strana) district is a great choice for travelers interested in history, architecture and city walks. Public transport stations are also very close - only 5 minutes of walking to the nearest tram station and 10 minutes to subway. Prague Airport is about 25 minutes by taxi or car from the Hotel.

Placed in an excellent location in Malá Strana, at walking distance of the Charles Bridge (Karluv Most / Podul Craol), the Castle (Hrad), and Old Town, with nearby bars, pubs, and restaurants, this boutique is the perfect choice for a city break in Prague. Cozy, personalized comfortable rooms, access 7/24, (really) excellent breakfast.
Parking at the hotel is possible, but problematic due to very limited parking spots, however, the staff can arrange nearby parking solutions for those arriving by car.
Very good communication with the Hotel management prior to arrival - useful for some orientation issues.
Tip: The top-floor room we booked offered a splendid view over the town and the Castle.

We stayed a week in the Sax hotel in december 2021.
We are absolutely positive about this hotel! Especially the breakfast and the staff was wonderful.

The hotel had been closed for a few days when we arrived and it took some time before the rooms were warm. And there was a problem with the water supply.
BUT the very friendly staff gave us a great room in a nearby hotel for the first night plus a 50% discount for the first night. AND they gave us a botte of champagne!

When we settled in our suite the next morning, we were given an extra heater to warm our room.
So we were satisfied with the way how they solved the inconveniences on the first day.

The rest of the week was marvelous. The rooms were heated up, and everything was just perfect.
There was a coffee machine on the room, and a water cooker on request.
We had a suite (room 301) with a view of the old castle and lots of room, good furniture and a nice atmosphere.
The room had two television sets and Netflix.
The beds were good. Very nice shower.
The room had a small fridge (with drinks and some snacks).

The breakfast was the best ever. Everything you might want: pancakes, croissants, apfelstrudel, yoghurt, different cheeses, vegetabes, fruit, fresh breqad, toast, scrambled eggs, even pasta. The breakfastroom is, like the entire hotel, full of vintage posters, toys and other original design from the 50s-60s-70s.

Staff was very helpful, calling taxis and giving advice about the city.

The hotel is located in the so called "lesser" Prague quarter, a beautiful old part of the city below the Prague Castle. Just a 10 minutes walk to cross the Charles Bridge. Lots of restaurants and sights in the neighbourhood.

Good to know: parking your car is not easy in this part of town. The hotel has 1 parking place for small cars (lower than 150 cm) for about €22 per day.
There is a small parking place close by (2 minutes walk) at the hospital for about € 30 a day. My advice: travel by taxi from the airport.

Note: there is no supermarket close by. The small "supermarkets" in the neighbourhood are expensive tourist traps! Don't buy there but take some time to visit a real supermarket in the old center across the river.

We will definitely visit this hotel again when in Prague.

We spend 2 nights in the hotel. Had a family room which was clean and very spacious. Amazing view!
Gentleman ( on day shift ) in the reception was very nice and very helpful.
The breakfast was served from 8 am ( on websides from 7am ) which was a bit late for us secon day as we took train at 8 am. But it was not a problem to prepare a packed breakfast for us which was very good! Thank you!
We had great stay, Prague is an amazing place.
The reason I gave 4 points - we had lot of ants in our room which was not good with 2 small kids

Make sure you make alternative parking arrangements as they don't tell you that the parking can cost you a much as an additional nights stay. The bedroom was dirty, linen had hair on it, black smudge marks on the pillow, and the curtains don't close. The lamp in the room has pieces of it missing, which were tucked behind the coffee machine. When raised with the reception, they apologized and did nothing about it!

The period of the glory of LH Vintage Design Sax Hotel obviously passed many years ago. Dirty and scratched walls, cracked tile, tattered flooring carpet, peeling paint, rusted window frames, torn off blinds is not what you expect booking superior room in a four star hotel. Further more the floor heating in a bathroom is out of order and there is no other heating. Guys at the reception desk are 'helpless' and not even willing to solve the problem by providing electric heater. I strongly do not advise booking. It's definitely not four star hotel.

3 estrellas y gracias

Located in one of the best areas of Prague. And that's about the only good thing to say. The carpet was in poor condition, the facilities and furniture lacked maintenance, the buffet was very basic, and the bathroom was terrible, not just aesthetically, but also because it was uncomfortable. The shower did not allow the showerhead to be hung up, and water leaked everywhere because the shower door lacked a seal. The bathroom mirror was positioned so high that a person under 1.70 meters tall couldn't see themselves to comb their hair, apply makeup, or do anything else. As for the staff's friendliness, I would rate it on the same level as the maintenance of the carpet: none, with the exception of a young guy at the reception. In summary, I would not return

Clean and tastefully decorated, with a friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in room 33, which is one of the hotel's larger rooms, and it was a real treat to spend time there after a busy day of walking around Prague. Large bathroom with heated floors and the bed sleeps very well. Breakfast is excellent en versatile, and the hotels offers all kind of snacks en beverages. They even sell bottles of chilled Sekt. We recommend this hotel, should you stay in Prague. You will not regret it.

Overall had a very lovely stay here. Staff were wonderful, and room was nice and cozy. Had a Deluxe Double Room, which was very nice size. Also, my request for a room with a bathtub was honored. Breakfast was included and loved the fresh fruits and bread. Decor was exactly as seen on website, so nothing surprising. A 10-minute walk (uphill) to Prague Castle, and a 10-minute walk (downhill) to Charles Bridge & Old Town. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for a long weekend over Easter. After initial confusion where we thought it was shut (if anyone else has this issue you should just open the outer door!), we had a very friendly welcome and were able to leave our luggage until check in. The room was clean and modern, with two bottles of water and two coffee pods for the machine provided (you can buy more if needed). The breakfast was great, with a good variety of options. The hotel is well located, in easy reach of bus, tram and metro stations to get around the city. It would have been even better if there were a bar, or even a self-service coffee machine - although the reception area and dining area are welcoming, it feels like a bit of a wasted space outside of breakfast time.

We were greeted at reception with a huge smile and he was concerned due to our late arrival due to our delayed flight.
Such a quirky hotel, amazing art work around the hotel. Our room was comfy and clean and the view from our window was beautiful. The breakfast was plentiful and kept us going until lunch, fruit, meats, pastries.
The hotel was perfectly located for all amenities, trams and buses just round the corner. The river was 5 minutes walk away from hotel.
We visited the zoo which was AMAZING.
So many places to visit, we'd definitely stay again.

Hi, you do not need to order and wait, it is more like buffet type. Breakfast includes, for example, eggs, scrambled eggs, vegetables, fruits, sausages, pancakes, beans, bread, of course, you can grab some butter or jam. Just come and take, what you want. Also you can order a delicious cup of coffee or a glass of fresh orange juice, which will give you energy to discover Prague!

Hello from Sax hotel, unfortunately there is no coffee machine in the rooms. There is one that you can use in our Coffee room/Lobby kitchen. There is also tee for free and kettle you can rent to the room to make tea every day. Hairdryers are available in all of the rooms. With Best Regards Sax crew

Hi, About parking, our hotel is located in the heart of Prague and therefore parking in this area is very limited. We offer two kinds of parkings - one next to our hotel and another one in our second hotel located 800 metres from our hotel, but one of these 2 parking options is always available. Price is 30-35 EUR/night.
