Great location and decor, our suite looked fab and the bed was comfi. Negatives were definitely the service except for the lady at reception nobody smiled. The breakfast was average and you hear absolutely everything if you have a room facing the road. we are heavy sleepers so it wasn't too much of a problem for us. The location was...

Just back from a three night stay and found the hotel very pleasant. I had a room in the rear of the hotel and wish now that I had upgraded to one of the deluxe rooms or suites at the front. There doesn't seem to be much difference in price and it would certainly be worth doing, plus you would...

Great little hotel, great room (ask for a view over the park with lift access), friendly and helpful staff and a very quiet and perfect location for sight-seeing. Breakfast was fine, not a huge variety but certainly enough of a choice. Would highly recommend this place.

We just spent three nights in this beautiful hotel, and will definitely be staying there again on our next visit to Prague. I was looking for a hotel with some 'old world charm', proximity to The Charles bridge and a view - my expectations were meet (and some) on these three points. The hotel is immaculately clean, warm, inviting and...

Came here for a 3 day business trip, and chose the hotel based on location close to the meetings, but its literally a 5-10 minute walk away from the Old Town square. If you like historical décor you will love this place! The rooms and bathrooms are very well equipped, with own coffee and tea maker, a towel heater, huge...

For people who need total consistency and the semblance of home, there are major hotel chains. For those who wish to sample something more local and more traditional, even if it's a little rougher around the edges, there are fantastic little gems like this one! U Pava is not perfect, but it is charming. The location, as most have mentioned,...

An absolutely perfect spot being so close to Charles Bridge and the Old Town and yet peacefully nestling in a quiet little square just off the main throughfare. The hotel was charming, very traditional and ornately decorated. We had booked a suite and this consisted of a large bedroom with gas fire and a small sitting room off this one...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
