Stayed here for two days, very basic room so don’t expect kettle to make coffee or tea. Great transport links into Prague city centre which takes about 15 minutes on the tram. Staff were very helpful when asking for extra pillows and breakfast was lovely too with lots to offer. Would be nice if they had another English Channel on the tv other than news.

This hotel is clean and well maintained, with helpful staff. Good location for the City centre, just jump on the number 9 tram and you're there in no time!

Very reasonable price-wise too. All in all, the hotel more than provided what we needed for our short trip to Prague.

Before arrival we received am email to complete all the check in information to save time on arrival which I did, only to need to complete it all again on arrival which after saying we had done this already the women was quite rude in the way she spoke to us.

Once checked in we entered the room, the room itself is basic, the shower is over the bath which has no holder for the shower head so we you need to hold it, the towels you are provided with are the size of a flannel.

Don't think I will be staying here again

What a great hotel, extremely friendly and cheerful staff, english speaking and most helpful. Very convenient location, catch Bus 119 to Motel and change to tram to Kavaliar out the front. Hotel also had minute tram and bus tickets for 12 euro which took us to the city then back to the airport.
Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, tea and coffee in the room and happy to give you more, and lots of hot water. I would not hesitate to stay there again and don't panic at the airport like we did, the taxis are a ripoff and we paid 480 euro to be dropped at the door when it could have cost us 12euro and not so very far from the airport or the city, about half way between. Great place.

Only 15 minutes by tram to the centre of Prague and only 5 minutes to the Andel shopping centre by tram, this hotel is ideally located. The hotel was also clean and our room had a very large bathroom. The staff were very happy to answer any questions we had. Breakfast was also very substantial with hot and cold buffet options. Would definitely recommend it to others.

I heartily endorse all the positive feedback about the hotel - if anything it was better than l expected but i do echo the points made about noise from the trams out front - not a major problem for us though. My wife being a Yorkshire lass, she (ahem) 'knows the value of money', so here's a few tips:

1) Returning to the Airport: We took a No. 9 tram (every 5 mins) five stops up the line, away from the city centre. Crossed the road and took a 179 bus (every 20 mins) for a 30 min journey which ended at the airport departure terminal. Easy peasy and costs nothing if you've bought a 1 or 3 day pass that's still valid. Before setting off, check with hotel reception who have reference timetables/maps.

2) We ate several times at the Zlaty Dul bar/diner recommended by the hotel. Turn right out the front door and walk 50 metres. Cheap (but good) food and beer. Beer is 25k (60 pence) for 0.5l. Two large beers, two main meals and two coffees for less than a tenner. Over coffee, my delicate flower discretely belched, loosened her belt a notch, leaned over to me and gently whispered "ey up luv, it just dunt get any better than this, same again then?"

3) Organised walks: We went on the six hour full day walk that included boat, foot and tram and can heartily recommend it. Cost 900k (£22.50) each but includes lunch and refreshment and was most enjoyable. No need to book, virtually all the walking tours start from the Astronomical clock in the Old Town Square. Just turn up and go. We went with the 'red umbrella' Walks of Prague outfit and had a great day.

4) The city transport system is awesome. Frequent, cheap, clean and efficient but we found it difficult finding a place that sells 1 or 3 day passes. We eventually got our three day pass 200k (£5) from the main tourist information office located next to the Astronomical clock in the Old Town Square.

I hope you find the info useful.

We stayed at this hotel in early January 2005 and, for a very cheap deal, we were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness and the generous size of our room and en-suite bathroom. A number of trams stop immediately outside the hotel entrance (4,7,9,10) and will take you to Andel within 5 minutes and then from there you can reach almost anywhere on the underground very quickly. The only downside of the hotel is that if you get a street facing room, it can be noisy with the sound of the trams, transport, etc, but this shouldn’t affect you as you will be exhausted after a day of taking in the beautiful city of Prague.

Two words of advice:

1. Do not go to the non stop herna (gambling bar) next door – we went for a quick night cap and ended up in the middle of some kind of police raid. Notwithstanding that, it just is not a very pleasant bar.

2. Be very wary of both pickpockets and touts (be especially aware of the fake 2000 Krona notes that look Bulgarian or Russian)

Other than that, you will have a great time here!!

An excellent hotel with good accesss to the city centre via tram. The number 9 is directly outside the hotel , 8 stops to charles bridge and 12 to wenceles square (city centre) the journey takes approxiamately 15 minutes.. We were told that after midnight we would need to get the 58 back (this is at the same stop) though we found that it was still running. Tickets for the tram can be purchased from reception within the hotel for 12 crowns each way. you can also buy a day pass for 70 a 2 day pass or a three day. Tickets are punched in the machine when you get on to the tram. The tram service is excellent with your tram arriving every 3-4 minutes. Be careful when getting on and off though as you need to be fairly quick. My husband got off and the doors closed before we did and the tram carried on leaving my poor husband running after us to the next stop. Though it was quite funny at the time to us it wouldn't have been quite as funny if it had been one of the kids as it was gone 12 at night! The hotel was excellent we had a lovely room which was like a suite with a comfy bed. However the kids were at the front of the hotel which was quite noisy with the trans running all night so it may be worth requesting a room at the rear of the building. The hotel was clean and tidy. The dining room was lovely and offered a decent breakfast which consisited of a choice of 3 cereals and raisins, hot and cold milk, beans ,eggs, frankfurter sausages cut up in to small pieces, cheese slices, ham, pastries, a range of bread, croissants, tea, coffee and juice. When you arrive at the airport it is cheaper to get a white mini bus taxi as they will take up to 4 people for 480 koruna. The hotel has a taxi service that they will book for you at a cost of 550 koruna to take you back to the airport. If you re going in to the centre at night dont expect to get a meal after 11pm as everywhere was closed! Not as lively as expected only the strip places that were open really and didn't see any kids at all at night.

We stayed at this hotel on an overnight stay having travelled just before Christmas 2004 to see the Christmas Markets. Although we at first had difficulty finding the road it was on from the Andel tram station( the ads said it was nearby) it was just a short tram ride and located literally in front of the kavalir tram stop . Underground trains were easy to use and cheap to get around on. Big tip.........use the Cedaz counter just behind the exit doors in Prague airport on the right hand side as you leave. Their mini taxi buses are reliable and cheap and will return for you at your hotel for the return journey if you book. We were told about them from a girl in the travel agents as the normal taxis rip you off.

The hotel was nicely decorated and clean with plenty of hot water and a biggish bathroom. The staff were friendly and the breakfast choice very good with hot and cold fare. We pinched a couple of fruit tart/muffins to eat later as they were delicious...........

Prague was very cold....minus 5 when we arrived and I'd advise anyone visiting at that time of year to wear several warm layers and at least two pairs of gloves.

The Christmas markets were just ok..........quite pretty but selling mostly the same items and to be honest we didn't see much to tempt us......the shops were good though. One down side was some market stalls sold cat and dog skins........not very nice to see what had obviously been a German Shepherd dog with the ears still attached!!

We ate out for lunch and dinner at two really nice places...can't remember the names but one was down an alleyway just off the Nadrazni.....good atomosphere and very busy.

We flew out at 7am from Glasgow and arrived a couple of hours later...they are one hour ahead. We stayed overnight and flew back again early morning again. We didn't see all the things we wanted to and I'd advise at least a two night stay. We booked with Thomas Cook in Clydebank and they were very helpful. It would only have cost us an extra £7 for another night.

Hello Peter, sorry abut the delay in getting back to you. The best is a private transfer of course, you can order for a flat fee of 24 EUR if ordered up to 3 days prior arrival. This transfer is for up to 4 people. Just send us a direct email to order. The cheapest is via public transport. Travelling from the airport. From the international Vaclav Havel Airport Prague by bus 191 to stop KLAMOVKA. From stop KLAMOVKA: by bus 167 to stop KAVALIRKA or by tram 9,10,15,16 to stop KAVALIRKA. Travelling from the train station From Main railway station by tram number 9 to stop KAVALIRKA. The trip will take about 50 minutes and you will have to buy a 32 CZK each at the airport magazine stands or at the Train Station public transport ticket machine.

Dear Traveller, Thank you for your inquiry. The hotel is located approximately 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. You can contact the hotel reception via email on kavalir@hhotels.cz and ask them to book a taxi for you. The hotel itself - being a 3 star hotel does not have an actual restaurant, only a breakfast room. But you will be able to enjoy Prague's magical Christmas atmosphere pretty much everywhere you go. There are plenty of Christmas markets on the streets and the hotel is only about 10 minutes by public transport from a shopping district full of markets and restaurants. We look forward to your visit.

The tram outside goes directly in around 5 minutes to the OC Nový Smíchov mall, which has a range of shops including a huge supermarket, a food court and a cinema.
