Charming traditional retreat in 16th-century Emperor's residence, set beneath the walls of Prague Castle. Wander up the cobbled, traffic-free streets to The Golden Well (U Zlate Studne), clinging to the wall in the shadow of Prague Castle, and you will uncover one of the city's best kept secrets. This modest collection of little inter-locking houses was once home to Emperor Rudolf II, and later the astronomer Tycho de Brahe. Sensitive renovation - has created a cosy yet refined hotel. The result is a pleasing balance of mod cons - internet access, satellite TV - and old style elegance.

Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.

We stayed in Golden Well hotel for 1 night and it amazed us. Hotel was beautiful, you could feel the history. Service was excellent, the best we ever had. And food was one big gastronomic fantasy with the best view of Prague you could get. Another big advantage is the location -

The Golden Well Hotel has everything you could want in a stay, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Prague. It is a picture perfect hotel from the cobblestone entry way, to the rooftop bar overlooking the city. The room had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable

Had a very short stop in Prague for two nights, and selected this hotel because of the price and location mainly. However, upon arrival i realized how much more it offers: efficient service, clean and well kept facilities, nice room with mini bar, and even a pillow menu. Located

This hotel is beautiful and in a brilliant location. The staff were pretty nice and the room was decent. So why three stars? Basically, because our room (15 if I remember correctly) wasn’t relaxing at all. It’s right above reception, so with all the wooden floors and hard

Dear "marcwebster", thank you very kindly for your review! We are very sorry you had not a very nice experience regarding sleeping in our hotel. The room number 15 truly is bit loud considering it is above the reception. Unfortunately, we can not do much about the reconstruction as the building has been built on the 1525 .. we will try to do our best to make the room quieter but we are very limited. It usually is not that very noisy but due to the very rare early check-out I understand the experience for you was not the best. Please accept once again our apology. Kind regards, Michal Motyčka Director of Operations

Taxi's from the station as best obtained from the front of the station. Walk straight out the front and keep going towards the road in front. There is a taxi rank along that road. Can agree price or use meter (better) Don't get taxi elsewhere as you'll get told some inflated price.

We didn't take a taxi. The hotel car cost around £55 per room return which was very good value

It's about a ten minute slow walk to the center of everything. Close enough to see it all but far enough away to not hear it all.
