First the good... breakfast was very plentiful and tasty. The bad was that the overall feel of the hotel is average 3-Star. The prices however do not reflect this. Almost fell down the stairs because the stairs leading up to the 3rd floor are so uneven and worn. Carpet is old, paint chipping off of mirror in bathroom etc. Also... More

A friend and I stayed there for 5 nights on holiday. We loved it. The location is great -- next to the Charles Bridge and river on a beautiful square, and remarkably quiet. Our room (#7) was large and beautiful. The highlight was the staff who were a complete joy to deal with - charming and ever helpful. The included... More

The location, despite being steps from the Charles Bridge, was surprisingly quiet. Such a nice respite to wander around the hotel, through the park and the little quarter. Loved it. The bathroom was typical, good lighting, shower was fine, clean. The food was excellent- best breakfast we had on our trip of Eastern Europe -- very fresh. The staff was... More

What a wonderful stay in Prague at the Golden Scissors. The room was lovely with a beautiful view, the staff was very helpful, the breakfast was delicious. Love the area in Kampa Park, it was like stepping back in time. I almost don't want to write a review, because I want to keep this place a secret. :)

To tell short, I was feeling myself not like in the hotel, but rather like in my relatives' house. Situated in the very city centre. With all modern facilities like Wi-Fi and old fashioned restaurant on the ground floor. I will try to come there again on my next trips to that charming city.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
