The hotel is nice, definitely a good value. The breakfast included with the room rate was nice, included fresh crepes, three different kinds of eggs, sausages, cereal, yogurt, pastries, coffee, etc... Daily maid service, comfortable beds, 24hr reception, in-room wi-fi, great location for Old Town, Charles Bridge, and Wenceslas square. We also enjoyed eating at the restaurant at the hotel.... As a student studying out in Brno, I was just excited to come see my family. This hotel made me excited to be back in Prague. A ten minute walk (at most) from the Old Town Square and perfectly located, we all enjoyed ourselves. Of course, there were a couple odd instances where my mother heard her name be called... More

The hotel is extremely old, and the micro-brewery side of the business (which even means the shampoo and shower gel are beer cosmetics) claims fifteenth century origins. But this means quirky rather than fusty. If you want luxury then this is not a good bet. But rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained. Mine had ample storage, though no arm... More

Great location, close to lots of tourist sights. Room was huge, but the pillows were terrible too soft & fluffy, for me, when I asked for another pillow I was made to feel I was asking for the moon! I did get one eventually but they should realise that not everyone wants a soft fluffy pillow, nor only one. We... More

We stayed for one night befre our flight in a triple room before our morning flight. The hotel is in an old but well maintaied building with a lot of carachter. Front desk stafff was excellent, speaking fluent Enlish and happy to help with anything. The rooms were a bit on the spartan side but for us it didn't matter... More

I try not to stay in chain hotels while vacationing and this was perfect! Great location close to Narodni street, which gets you to Wenceslaus Square in one direction and a few picturesque blocks to the Old Square and Astronomical clock in the other. In between, a wealth of restaurants, cute shops and also very close to the river. So,... More

Had a great experience here, and would recommend it to anyone. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. This is an atmospheric, interesting building which genuinely feels part of historic Prague. I had a clean, spacious room with a huge bed, soft white linen and a very nice, modern bathroom. Loved the beer themed accessories, and the... More

Stayed here for 3 days in September and it was great. We were in the family room which was very big. Hotel location is excellent and walking distance to most attractions in the city. Food was good and the beer was even better. Staff also cery friendly. No complaints, great stay and highly recommended.

Popped in on recommendation from tour guide, as they spoke English. This wasn't strictly true, but we struggled through. The food was good, as was the local beer. I had the roast pheasant. A couple of waitresses were a bit off, but I'm wondering if the English are all now tarred with the same brush post Brexit! Some of my... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

The Hotel U Medvidku Brewery is situated in a 15th century house, and original historical components, such as Gothic trusses and painted timber ceilings, have been preserved in some rooms.
