U Medvidku is a friendly, affordable hotel with an excellent location. The staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful, and as for the the location, everything was close by or easily reached by public transport. I believe U Medvidku is among the cheapest three star hotels close to the old town square, and hence the value for money ratio...

Arrived at 8pm and there was already a line of locals, which is a good sign if they are willing to wait! Atmosphere (0) First Thing you should know is that the atmosphere in the restuarant is not exactly fresh, actually very much the opposite; wooden tables, wooden floors, wooden chairs, wooden, well you get the idea, lots of wood!...

This combination of hotel, restaurant and bar is a great place. We had lunch here and tried the traditional pork knuckle. this is a huge piece of meat definitely one for sharing. I would highly recommend a visit and will return on my next visit to Prague. Its almost a time warp from a bygone a era.

We've stayed here many times as a couple and this time brought our children and stayed in a family room. As ever it didn't disappoint. Service friendly and efficient, breakfast great and rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Great to be able to walk through to the bar/restaurant from the hotel too. Can't wait to come back!

The U Medvidku hotel is situated at a perfect location on a five minutes walk from the Wenceslas square. If you need a good base to explore Prague (on foot and by public transport) you can easily make your choice for this hotel with it's restaurant, bar and own brewery. The hotelstaff is very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival they...

The year the brewery was established. Charming hotel with a very good breakfast included. Recommend trying the micro brews. Beer shampoo in rooms 😀 It is not air conditioned but the building is hundreds of years old. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Location was excellent. Rooms very spacious and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful but some of the staff in the bar could do with being a bit more polite. Also be careful with towels in rooms. some of our party got fake...

Great hotel for people seeking something new and unique. The location couldn't have been better, it's very close to the town centre where you can easily find a guided tour of the city. Amazing. It would have earned a five star rating of it had an air conditioning system.

This is the second time we've stayed here and we'd definitely visit again. On our previous visit we stayed in a room on the second floor (which was lovely) however on this trip we were given one of the more traditional beamed rooms on the third floor - although other reviewers have raved about these, personally I preferred the light...

Stayed at Medvidku before. It now has a lift and a better bar. Restaurant has improved. X33 is still there. Please note that the Budweiser on offer is not the american mouthwash but Budvar. Great place to stay. Location is brilliant for town centre. Service, staff, breakfast all good. Some might fing the eccentricity of the building a bit odd...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel U Medvidku Brewery is the only hotel with a brewery in Prague. A former medieval brewery was converted into a three-star hotel with 43 unique rooms. The Hotel U Medvidku Brewery is situated in a 15th century house, and original historical components, such as Gothic trusses and painted timber ceilings, have been preserved in some rooms. The hotel includes a traditional Prague pub with typical Czech cuisine, a beer bar with a wide selection of Czech beer, shop offering beer and brewery souvenirs and a congress hall. The mini-brewery is biggest attraction for our guests. It makes the STRONGEST BEER in the world, XBEER-33, using historical technology. Hotel U Medvidku Brewery is located directly in the city centre of Prague, close to the Old Town Square and National Theatre. ... more   less
