The hostel is closed down. We booked it through bedandbreakfasttraveler.com arrived in prague and the hostel closed down 5 years ago. Soso i just want to say it that it s not happening to u as well. It was really annoying to be there without a place to stay.

You should never expect your belongings to be safe in a hostel. Especially one that doesn't have door locks. The Golden Sickle doesn't offer the extreme safety of a hotel. It offers the cheap stay and friendliness of a dorm. The rooms are beautiful and the hostel is very nicely situated in Stare Miesto in Prague. The service was wonderful,...

I didn't think my stay here was that bad. It seemed like a typical hostel, but I can see how people had their things stolen. Overall, I would recommend this hostel, but as with any hostel, look after your things.

This was the only not fully booked hostel we've managed to find after arriving to Prague. The room was quite big and funny - separated from the kitchen just by the glass door - so always full of external light and sound. The stuff was really nice and there were hearts everywhere :) Constant queing for the shower. apparantely no...

This is a review about Golden Sickle service, as we didn't have a chance to stay in their hostel! We were planning our trip to Prague in May and I made a reservation for this hostel on 13th of March 2008. I got an e-mail from the hostel 4 days before our trip with their cancellation of our reservation! Their...

A very strict, rule-ridden hostel. There are signs up for absolutely everything, basic common sense stuff, like close doors, don't make noise after 9pm, don't sit on radiators, etc and it creates a real negative atmosphere. Found the staff, with the exception of the night watchman, to be very rude, unaccommodating and unhelpful. Arrived at midday after a very early...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
